Teaching

Along with summer projects comes summer chores. Just before school got out the boys were acting out a lot. Any discipline we tried they didn't seem to care, but they do love to earn money. We decided to do an allowance for the kids. They have a set list of chores they do a week and if at the end of the week they are done they get some money. The other side to it is they can loose money for certain things also, like talking back, hitting or other things they know they aren't supposed to. This was the first week and they did well with doing the chores. The bad part is it is more work for me to teach them to vacuum, wipe counters, pick weeds and all of their other chores. I could do it in half the time if I just did it, but they do need to learn to work so we'll keep it up. There were a ton of weed in the front and Camden picked them all by himself so he got an extra dollar.
I'm also teaching Jackson to put his dished away. He's good with his clothes and diaper, but now it's time for dishes. He tried his milk the other day without my help and well it didn't go so well. I guess at least they are all learning good life skills.
