Emery and Jacks

Jacks likes to hid and he likes to make people think he's other places and then jump out. He kind of knows when Brad comes home for lunch so the other day he wanted to hide. The only problem was Brad had to finish a few things before so he was a little later. Jacks sat in this way for a good 15-20 minutes waiting. He kept telling me to tell dad he's in his room. It was all worth it to him when Brad was 'scared'.
Emery went to a pampering birthday party this past weekend and had a lot of fun. She is really girly, so stuff like that she loves. The other night when we went to check on her she was asleep with her eye  mask on and lip stick. I have a feeling shes going to be a fun teen.

Tombstone Wedding

In 7th grade my friend Brittany met a boy and started to like him. In 2003 her and I wrote down in my journal a wedding ceremony that she would have when she married Chance. This past weekend that dream came true. It wasn't the same wedding but a fun wedding to see and be in. It was a "Tombstone" themed western wedding.
This is the are where the ceremony took place.
Her dad and now husband built a saloon area for dancing.
She was a beautiful bride. Since it was a theme wedding there was a sort of script that went with it. Thankfully I didn't have to say anything. When they were asked if anyone opposed her dad yelled no and a shootout started. It was fun to watch and helped a lot to not get teary.
Everyone wore western wear. It was so much fun to be a part of and to see her get married. There were many MANY years of going out with her and Chance because Brittany's parents wouldn't let them go out alone. At least the seeing them get married made it worth it.

Sing and Football

When the boys could read I told them that they can sing along with the Hymns in Sacrament. Today Jacks wanted his own book and the right page. Once I got there I was sharing a book with Camden so I didn't pay much attention. When the first song was over Beck asked if I heard him, which I didn't, apparently he was singing along. He did it every song. He didn't know the words but he still tried to sing along. It was really cute to hear.
Football ended this week. We were so proud with how well they played, especially the last game. Camden and Beckham both got a flag. Until next year when they can tackle, Which Cam will try, but he's tiny, and Beck is too nice too but he could.

Cams Room

We finished Cam's room this weekend. He changed his mind over and over so we decided to let him pick a color and then have poster and shelves that he can change whats in them. The green he picked was GREEN so we had to tone it down by adding the gray. He picked the posters out and we gave him Emery's old bed.

This is a whiteboard wall. In a few day (after the paint sets) he'll be able to write on his and erase it. He's excited to color different things on it, now we hope it actually works, or we're in for some work to take this stuff off.

Random

I was giving the boys a spelling test the other day and when they finished I just went back to packing stuff up. A few minutes later Emery came into the room and asked if she could do the same thing as the boys. She wrote her own spelling list and wanted to be tested. She did really well and spelled all her words right. Emery is a really smart girl and loves learning.
I forgot to take food to work on Monday and so Brad brought me something. He sent Beck inside with it. If I leave my office I have to have a phone with me in case someone calls. When Beck saw it he asked what it was. I told him a phone and he told me it was weird looking. All the things that our kids aren't going to know what they are. This phone isn't even that weird looking.
Emery loves to write notes and leave them on your bed for you. This is the best way to come home from work.
I was painting Beck's room today and Jacks was throwing a fit for some reason. It got quiet and when I went to look for him I found him on the stairs sleeping. I was worried he would try to roll and well, roll all the way down. Luckily he didn't.

The House

We are in our new house! We signed last Friday and have been working a lot to get it all set up. It was a HUGE mess for a long time, and I don't like mess. It's a lot better, but still a small mess. We all love the house and the kids are doing great in their rooms. We have started to decorate them all. Before we signed the previous owners let us come in and paint, which helped a lot to have the kitchen, our room and front room all painted.
The first night we all watched movies and slept in the front room. All the kids loved it.
We had to wait a few days for some furniture to come, the one chair we had wasn't big enough.
We are so excited to be in the house and making it our own, but the kids do miss going upstairs and coloring with Grandma or seeing Grandpa after work. We are so grateful for the time we had there. Now we just need the whole house clean and painted.

Concert

We went to Utah this weekend to see Breaking Benjamin and Shinedown in concert. It was such a good show. We have liked the first band for a long time and I knew of Shinedown and liked some of their songs. They were both great and we would defiantly go see them both again.

Crazy Hair

Last week the kids had crazy hair day at school. Really the only thing we could think to do was to color it. I found one that only lasts 1-2 washes and it's gone. The kids loved it.

The day that was hair day was also signing/moving day for us. Of course Jacks had to be like his siblings and have his hair colored. My dad was in the hospital for about 2 weeks total over the course of 3 weeks with gallbladder problems. My mom took Jacks with her for the day Friday so we could sign without Jacks there.... red and blue hair and all. He had a blast though.

The Painting

Brad likes to paint and at the beginning of the year my friend asked him to paint a picture for her. After going through a few ideas they figured out one, a realistic one. Brad hasn't ever done that, but he was ready for the challenge. It had taken a while, but he has learned so much doing it and well as you can see it turned out really really well. I'm always amazed with that his mind can think of and then get out on canvas. Now time for all the projects we have for the house.

Coloring

There are new coloring books out that are geared towards adults. The pictures are mosaic, paisley or other scenery. They are lots of fun to do and my mom has had one for a few weeks. The kids have watched her color in it and asked if they could get one. She got them one and they all are hooked, Emery especially. She will sit for hours each night with Grandma and color. Emery will really miss doing that when we close on our house.

Halloween

This year for Halloween we were in Utah then Idaho. Brad and I had a concert on the 30th, so we stayed with a friend and did some stuff with them, then came home and did a little trick or treating home.
Beck was a devil child, or so he said. He just liked the mask.
 Cam was a skeleton mage.
Jacks was the indomonus rex from Jurassic World.
Emery was a skeleton, but when it came down to wearing the costume she only wanted the mask, and borrowed Beck staff for a while.
The kids got a lot of candy, way too much, but they loved it. This was the first year the boys went out with a friend. I like that they have a friend to hang out with, but they are growing up to fast for my liking.

Football

The boys are doing flag football. It's been fun to watch them. Neither of them are very aggressive but  they still have a lot of fun and are getting better. We'll have to put them in real football next year.

At first they did a lot of standing around. They move more now though.

Books

Well it's been about a month since I blogged. Stuff has happened, but I just kept forgetting to write. A few months ago the boys drew a picture to enter into a Goosebumps contest. We didn't send it in in time; the boys had finished them in time, we just forgot to send them. We hoped the boys forgot about, but they didn't. To make up for it we got them a book and "mailed' it to them as if it was from the contest. They both were so excited when it came and showed everyone. Someday we'll tell them the truth.
