This Past Week

I work Friday nights and get home at 6am on Saturday. Usually the kids don't hear me but Jacks and Emery were in the front room sleeping and they both woke up. That is way too early and they both were in bad moods most of the day. Later in the day we heard then fighting then it got quiet. We didn't thing much of it until about an hour later when we went to check on them... they fell asleep fighting. Doesn't look very comfy but they didn't seem to care.
Since we finished all the Harry Potter movies we needed a new series to start. We decided to do one that even the younger two would like, so we pick the Toy Stories. This was a better way for them all to sit instead of some on that and some on the couch. Oh well, it just meant that I could stretch out.
We had yet another snow day this week. I personally and over snow and snow days, but the kids seem to still love them. We had to get a few things at Walmart and these were on clearance and they keep the kids entertained. Beck can dominate with them and it's funny to see them go flying in them. When they were done outside they sat in them and read books. We did find out that Jacks is  a little claustrophobic and he didn't like feeling stuck; I don't blame him.

Scouts

The boys scout leaders are going to be gone for a few months, so we have had to do a few projects with them at home. It's actually been a lot of fun to do them. They both have done an art projects one. Beck was doing a self portrait here. It's interesting to see how they turn out and how they see themselves in the pictures.
Since Camden already finished his art one he was able to do the build it one with Brad. Camden really likes doing things like this with Brad, so he was in heaven. He had to measure, cut the wood, paint it and help hang it up.
It was an easier one to do, but he made a shelf for our speaker so it can sit behind the TV. He's pretty proud of his creation.

Friday the 13th

What could be more fun than watching scary movies and having fun treats on Friday the 13th? The kids were exited about the idea of staying up to watch a sort of scary movie and themed snacks. We watched "ParaNorman" with all of the kids. It's not to scary... well I guess it was in one scene for Jacks. He couldn't decide if he should cover his eyes or peak just a little bit. Later the older two watched "The Sixth Sense"  and actually really like it. Beck only jumped once that I saw.

We made monster cupcakes, (we were going to watch "Monster Squad" but couldn't find out dvd) They added the eyes and blood themselves.
Then nutter butter ghosts for another snack. The kids always have a lot of fun when we do nights like these. We just have to think of the next one to do.

Snowdays

Last week we had a lot of bad weather days that consisted of snow, wind, rain and bitter cold temperatures. The kids went back to school Tuesday but that night is when the weather started and the kids didn't have school Wednesday or Thursday or Monday. After 2 weeks off almost a whole other week off right away made for a long week. But the kids did have a lot of fun in the snow.

The wind created a lot of really big drifts all over.

On Saturday the weather was supposed to be really bad again and it was going to be keeping us cooped up inside for a while. Brad and I went out and got some food, games and Nerf bullets.
When we got home we got out all of our Nerf guns and had a war. It was a lot of fun and there were bullets all over the house. We also had a camp out in the front room and watched movies

We also played a few new games, like Googly Eyes and Family Challenge. Both were a lot of fun and the kids have played them a few times since we got them.

We cooked in Emery's Easy Bake Oven and a real mixer. Jacks spilled a little flour and Emery said that 'a messy cook is a good cook.' It's what my mom told me and I told her. Now I'll just have to make sure they don't just throw things around to be really messy.

By Monday I was really ready for school to be back in,but thanks to rain, the roads were really had and a few schools had some flooding, so no such luck. To keep them busy they had to deep clean the kitchen for me. They did get paid for it, but it was worth it to keep them busy.
Tuesday Brad had the day off and today Beck is home sick...so in about the last 4 weeks I have yet to have a 'normal' day and an afternoon alone (not that I'm looking forward to it). I'm over snow and cold weather, so here's to hoping we are done with it.
