Poor JB

One thing I didn't think about with swimming lessons for Emery is what Jacks would think. I was glad because the boys are at school when she goes, but... then there's Jacks. He wasn't too happy he didn't get to swim. He kept trying to take his shirt off the whole time we were there. What a sad face.

Ears: Take 2 and Swimming

We were shopping the other day and Emery asked Brad is she could get something. She had a whole $0.05 and wanted to know what she could get. Brad told her she should get her ears pierced again. She was really excited and was set on doing that. We talked a little bit and I told her she has to let me clean them if she does. She was all in for it and couldn't wait. We went to Clair's and got them pierced. As a parent I always get nervous when I know something is going to hurt the kids. I got a little teary each time they have had to take one of the kids back for a surgery, I hated shots and this wasn't an exception. They first hole they punched my eyes teared up, I felt lame once I realized Emery wasn't crying at all. She was so strong and brave. She loves the earrings and has done great with the cleaning. Today however she freaked out and came running out of her room. One fell out. Thanks to her Barnes head and the small head hole in her shirt and the lace on the shirt, the earring got stuck and pulled out. I think she was scared it would hurt the same as it did the first time, but it went in easy and pretty painless. Isn't she beautiful?
We did a lot more sports things with the boys then we have with Emery. She has missed out on a few things so we decided to put her in swim lessons while the boys are in Basketball. She has been so excited for it and has been wearing her suit almost every day. The only problem we had was to get into the bubble at the city pool you have to go in a revolving door. She wasn't too impressed with this and didn't want to go in at all. I almost had to drag her in, but once she got in she couldn't hold back the excitement. She was the only kid in the class for about 10 min. She did great and was really sad that we had to leave. Good thing they are twice a week. She can't wait for next time.

Return of Special Nights

After a little bit off, we have started to do the kids special nights again. They were all really excited for them to start. Camden's night was tonight. He chose McDonald's, like usual.
Next we went to a new place called Jump Time. It's a place with lots of trampolines. It was actually a lot of fun, a good workout, but too expensive. It may only be a special night kind of place. I wish is were cheaper and we'd go more. We played basketball, dodge-ball,
And a foam pit that you can jump into. That was fun, except I lost my sock in it. It's always fun to go out with the kids. I really love going with Camden and seeing him laugh and smile the whole time.
Last Saturday Beck started to get a cough and on Sunday he had a bad fever. He only has gone to school Tuesday because he said he felt better, but he probably shouldn't have gone. The reason I write about this is because of Camden. We really saw the old twin brother in him this week. On Monday he didn't want to go to school. I literally had to drag him onto the bus. It was so sad, but he needed to go to school. I was talking to him before he left and he said he needed to stay home to take care of Beck while I slept. (I take naps on the days I work, although today wasn't a nap day). Wednesday through Friday was a lot better going to school. He had a job, he needed to get Beck's homework so he didn't fall behind. One of the nights Beck went to take a bath in our bathroom and Camden went and got Beck his towel so he had it. On Thursday I was talking about going shopping Friday and Camden said I should wait until after school, then he would take care of Beck and make sure he was OK. Beck was doing a lot better Friday, so I went in the AM, but it was sweet of Camden to offer and to worry about Beck. I really saw a bond between these two this week. It's cute to see Camden worry and want to help with Beck when he's not feeling well. He's a good big brother.

Cool Car

Last week it snowed a little, which made the roads slick at 6 am for Brad driving to work. There is an 'S' curve near the hospital. He fishtailed then couldn't get it corrected and spun a 360. After he spun out the back driver tire hit the sidewalk and dented the tire, axle and something else. After finding out the bill we deiced to file with insurance. Doing this we got a rental car for a week. With the amount they paid we got this sweet car. It actually was pretty cool. The kids loved it and always wanted to be in it. It made me really want a small car to take around the times when we have only one or two kids with us. We had to take it back today and get out van back. It was a fun week with a small car, but now back to normal.

Fun Night

We decided to have a fun night with the kids. We ate dinner on the floor (somehow that's a lot better than the table), made their own brownies, watched movies and slept in the front room.  We got small loaf tins and let them put whatever treats in their brownie that they wanted. I had one bite of mine and was done, way too much chocolate.

The kids loved them. We watched a few older movies. We watched "Jurassic Park 3" and "Jack the Giant Slayer."  Jacks loved Jurassic Park with all the dinos. He's asked to watch it again. We really need to show the kids old movies more often.

Emery

I hate when my fingers have little pieces of skin peeling off. I bite my nails and bite those off too. It also bugs me when Brad or the kids have them on their hands. Not sure why, it's just annoying. I try to pick them off of Brad but he usually wont let me. At least I have rubbed off on Emery. They skin bugs her also and she pics it off of Brad, and of course he'll let her do it. I guess at least it gets done.

LEGO Day

During Christmas break there was a LEGO robotics day that we signed the kids up for. They love to build things and it was a way to get them out for the day. The boys loved it and had a lot of fun learning about robotics. There is a smaller calls at the end of January that they are going to do also.

They even got a medal for completing it.
Beck and his partner made a dancing guy and Cam and his partner made a spinning one. It's a short video, but fun to see what they were able to do with LEGOs and a computer.
