Stairs

We made another change to the playhouse, we added stairs. It's a lot easier for Jacks to get up and a little safer too. We didn't mean to make it so tall, but the height of the stairs will make the boys go a little slower as they climb up.
We had a run in the garage that we really weren't using that worked out perfect as a cover for the stairs.
Emery posing. We did this Thursday morning. By we I mean Brad, I was taking Beck and Emery to the dentist to finish up their cavity fillings. That is the reason Emery's smile is a little... well different.
The kids project for today was staying the night at Grandma and Grandpa Arrington's house. The kids love to have sleepovers, and Brad and I love the fact that we can go out without worrying about a babysitter. Today we are going to the drive in. The kids look forward to going all year. I just hope they keep good movies showing.

Spring Day

It finally felt like spring today. It was so nice and since Brad got off early we took advantage of the nice weather and went to the park and ate lunch. $5 pizzas are the best for things like this. The kids had a lot of fun and didn't want to leave the park when we had to go. I hope this weather keeps up for a long time.

Maracas

Today we made maracas  I'm regretting that idea a little bit because it's all I keep hearing. The kids did have fun making them and it is keeping them busy and out of my hair, so I just have to keep telling myself that. I love that Jackson will finally pose with the other kids and look happy doing it.

Spring Break

It is spring break so that means either I go crazy or I figure ways to keep the kids busy. Other than playing video games 24/7 for the week. Each day we'll do some sort of project. Monday we made slime. Some glue and liquid starch made for a few hours of entertainment. The kids thought it was nasty when they were mixing it. For some reason the blue one was really sticky and no matter what we did it stayed that way. They played with it for at least an hour before lunch and then an hour or so after quite time. They are still wanting to play with it today.

I had to watch Jacks because he kept trying to eat it, even though he knew it wasn't good.
Emery made a mustache (or moostache as she says it) and apparently it suck to her face a little.
Today we made suckers. We used Jolly Ranchers and melted them down to new suckers. The kids likes making their own color combinations.
 Here they are up-close.
So far the week hasn't been too bad. They have stayed busy and not fought too much. It is only the second day in though.

Principals Pride

Camden was principals pride for his class this month and he actually got to be there. There was another half day at school and I thought of keeping them out again, but I got a ride home for the boys and sent them. About 10 am I got a call. It was Camden, but I couldn't hear him. His teacher got on the phone and told me Cam was Principals pride and he wanted me to come and see him. We went to the assembly where he got to be recognized  It was fun to see how excited he was that I came. (Good thing I went, it was Jacks nap time and I almost didn't go.) We do have some good kids and they love getting things like this.

Another Hole in Beck's Head

Beck lost his second tooth. It was loose and he kept playing with it Monday night. Tuesday after school I went Visiting Teaching and Brad text me and said the tooth came out. When I asked it if fell out he said no, he used pliers to take it out. Maybe it wasn't quite ready to come out if he had to sure pliers to get it out.
You can see the new tooth coming in behind the hole left by the other and behind all of his other teeth. Sweet, braces for him someday.

Jacks

Jackson is definitely a toddler. He found the box of markers that Brad uses for his primary class and decided the best place to draw was his forehead. I guess at least it wasn't the wall.

Dentist

Beck had another dentist appointment to get a filling. I told him last night, and his reaction.... "YES!" I have never said that about going to the dentist. I still don't say that about the dentist. Doesn't he look excited? He just wanted to go to the prize box, it's the reason he was excited. I am glad that he's excited and not scared.

Blanket

A few months ago Brad mentioned he wanted a new blanket. He loves to always have a blanket on. I was going to make him one for his birthday, but thanks to Emery saying something about a fabric store and Brad asking her over and over about it, the secret was out. I let the kids pick the backing because I couldn't decide. I was going to use quilting frames, but I decided that my machine would do a good job too. It is really warm, but it need to be broken in a little bit.

Chocolates

Brad was out of town this weekend, so I needed to think of something to keep the kids busy. We went to Micheal's and they found some chocolate mustache molds and they were sold. It was actually a good thing to do because we had to do it in rotations, so they were busy most of the afternoon with it.

You can tell they had fun because the mess is so big... or they are just messy cooks like me.
 Don't they look fancy?

Camden's Night

Last night was Camden's special night. Out of all the places he could have picked to eat he chose McDonald's... really? At least it was nice and we could eat outside. I really wish that they put a small cast on his arm for a few weeks. I am more worried about his arm more now than before (there is a good chance I am over thinking it though). He played on the toy and came with his wrist pointed down and said it hurt really bad. My heart dropped because all I thought was "it's broke." Some of the glue just came off so nothing big. He does favor his right arm now more than before.
Next we went to Lazer Mania. Camden likes golf more than the lazer tag, so we did that. It was fun to play, but I am horrible at it. He had a ton of fun playing coin games after and got a lot of tickets.
He was pretty excited with the prizes he got. On the way to dinner he didn't talk a lot but the whole way home he talked a ton. It's fun to see them open up and really enjoy the one on one time they have with us. Beckham is already talking about his night next month. He is counting down the days. I'm glad we started to do this with the kids. I just hope their dinners aren't always McDonald's.

Because We Have a Toddler

Jackson is all boy and loves to climb. He however isn't great with edges. With the playhouse being so tall and Jacks not being very steady, we decided we needed to make it a little safer for him. We put netting around the top of it. Now really all he can fall down is the ladder (which we plan on putting stairs) or the slide. At least this year he has figured out he can't just walk down the slide and that he needs to sit first.

So far it works, but I still like to be near him when he is on it. He loves being on the top with the other kids and it's hard to get him down from it.

The Final Surgery

Camden had his final surgery today. (Well the last for his arm at least.) They took the rod out today and everything went great. It took longer to put him under anesthesia and have him recover from it then the actual surgery took. We got home from the hospital by about 9:30 and by 11 he wanted to just run and play. The Doctors notes said that he can not run, jump, climb for 4 weeks.... He must not have realized that he is talking about a 6 year old adventurous boy who lives to climb on things. Actually that's the reason we are in this ordeal in the first place. He was a little nervous for the surgery, but not as bad as lat time. He still woke up and did an alligator roll away from the nurses, but they say most kids do that. He is pretty proud of his incision here. They just glues it shut, so no stitches to worry about or take out.
They took and x-ray of his arm to make sure it was good and for some reason gave us the huge film... Camden thought it was pretty cool. He had hoped to get his rod, but I think it got lost in the process of getting him to his room. Now we have to keep him calm for the next 4 weeks while it heals a little more.
We have a week full of Doctor appointments. Monday Beck and I had to get a cavity filled. This was Beck's first filling and I have to say he was awesome, so awesome that he gets to go back Monday to have more done. He had 5 fillings! Ugh, the kids have my teeth genes, which is not good. I love the place we go to, they are awesome with kids, a lot better than the one I went to growing up. I still get scared to get a filling done and that's what I don't want my kids to feel. Emery gets to go on Friday to get yet another filling, but this time she will be awake for it. I am not looking forward to taking her to that. She is good getting her teeth cleaned, but who knows if that will work when they are getting drilled. Wish us luck.
