Crafty Week

We did some fun projects this week. The kids are really into the game Minecraft, so Monday we painted Minecraft. I drew a grid on the canvas, but non of the kids ended up using it. Jackson had a lot of concentration. He however wouldn't paint more that this one area.
We have some good artists in our family, just like their dad is.
Tuesday was another free game day. Wednesday we made light saber treats. The kids thought they were pretty tasty.
Thursday they created their own plates. If you draw with permanent marker on a plate and bake it, supposedly it will stay. We'll see what happened when they get washed for the first time.
Today's was a little bit of a bust, but the kids still had fun. We were making bouncy balls, but they didn't bounce. It made a better silly puddy than anything.

This week we went and go all the boys school supplies and just ordered their new backpacks today. Before we know it we will be back into the school thing and projects will be done. We'll just have to enjoy these last few weeks.

Last Game

The boys had their last game this week. It has been fun and they have gotten a lot better, but I am glad it is over.

Camden was on third base and Grandma Arrington told him to slide into home. I didn't think we would do it but he did. It was so cute and funny to see. If I knew he was going to do it I would have taken a picture.

Few of Jacks

I was making rolls the other day. Jackson loves to eat dough and didn't know bread dough isn't the best. Emery enjoyed it too though, so maybe is wasn't as nasty as I thought.
Jackson is really into his crib. He runs to it at night and at naps, so I was worried he wouldn't do well. The first couple naps have gone well. We'll see how night time goes tonight. He can get out, so I'm worried how early he'll get up.

Beck's Night

We didn't do a project Friday because it was Beck's special night. He decided to have Subway for dinner. He says its his favorite place to eat.
Next we went to Dirkies Lake and hiked to the hidden lakes. It was a hot night to go, but it was still fun.

He liked to find places to pose for pictures.
He got too hot and took off his shirt. When we got back he had to lay in the shade to cool off. The joy of kids is they are honest... well with things that most aren't honest about. He told us that his pits were sweaty and had Brad feel them. Then on our way back he said that his undies were wet in the back because he was sweating so much. You have to love their honesty.
Last we went to Orange Leaf. It was a fun night spent with just Beck.

Good Project Week

I was better this week with projects. We did one pretty much every day (not today though).
Monday we made fruit snacks. We used Jello and unflavored gelatin. They actually turned out really well and the kids loved them. We'll have to make them again.

Tuesday we did two projects. I had to go out to get a few things, so we got a lunch-able also and went to Harrison School to eat. It was great weather outside and playing on the toys wore the kids out.

Jackson discovered the see-saw and loved it. He didn't ever want it to end.
That day we also did sandpaper t-shirts while Jacks slept. You draw a picture on some fine sandpaper and then use and iron to transfer the image to a t-shirt. The kids thought it was pretty cool to see their design on a shirt.

One of the kids favorite things to do is a box drive in. They come up with some interesting boxed. Emery's was more of a hide out.

We watched "Jack the Giant Slayer." All of the kids liked it.
Thursday was a free day. They got to make whatever they wanted from my craft bag. They made a pretty big mess, but it kept them busy for a while.
Camden used one of the ink pads and then touched his face, it looked like he got hit in the face though.

Small Projects

This was not a good week for projects. We really didn't do much. Monday I was tired and didn't want to do anything, so we didn't. Tuesday I felt bad so we went to the park for lunch and played with bubbles. The kids liked them for about 5 min and then were done. They liked it more when Brad or I made the bubbles, but I gave up after I got light headed.

Wednesday and Thursday we didn't have a project. The boys didn't do their chores so they didn't get to do projects. They had a tough lesson this week with listening and doing what they are supposed to do. I thing this next week they'll be better.
Friday we had a water day at Grandma and Grandpa Arrington's house. The kids love to play in the water and of course it is more fun at Grandparents houses.

Jacks favorite this was the swing, he just doesn't have the balance the older kids do.
I think next summer I will only do projects every other day. By the time we get through one month of projects I am a little burnt out but the kids just want them more and more. This next week I'll do better and we'll have our daily projects back.

Photo Bomb Week

This probably should have been a week where I broke the projects into days, but I didn't so this is a long post. Monday we had a water day. It was so hot out which made it a perfect day for it. It took Brad and me about 45 min to fill up all the water balloons and the kids about 2 min to pop all 150 or so of them. It was a fun 2 min though.

They all had a water gun also. It was fun to watch them try to shoot them because they got really close before they would shoot the water.
They don't quite get how to do a slip n' slide but that makes it fun to watch.
Tuesday I didn't feel like doing anything which made our project going to Orange Leaf. The kids love to pick their own things, so it was a fun thing for them.
Wednesday we had a camp out in the back yard. We had hot dogs for dinner... yes I ate a hot dog. The first full one I have had in years. We did wrap them in bacon, but I have to say it didn't help the flavor much. It will be many years before I have another. The kids loved just playing in the tent. We found a milk weed in our yard.
 Cam made a beard.
Beck put the 'milk' on his chest and spent the rest of the night trying to pick the sticky stuff off.
 Jacks had a blast.
 Then he got worn out.
Emery was tired also by the end of the night.
Maybe we should have found a bigger tv... oh well.
No camp out is complete without smores. We used the grill to cook them and they turned out great.

Thanks to it being the day before fireworks, lots of people thought they should light off fireworks, so the kids got a little freaked out and couldn't sleep with the noise. Our camp out became a camp in, but the kids still thought it was awesome. Jackson was happy, he was glad to sleep in his bed and not the tent.
Thursday our project was fireworks. I really hate fireworks, but the kids love them. Jackson didn't get that it was fire and ran towards on of them. It made a pop noise and he quickly ran the other way. We only got a few in thanks to some big wind storm that came in. I wasn't too disappointed.

All of the kids were so tired from the night before they were all out by 8:30. It was nice.
Today's project was a game day. The kids usually have only 1 hour of games they can play a day. Today they had unlimited as long as they didn't fight. We were gone a lot in the morning so it didn't end up being as much as it sounds. Plus by 6 the boys had a few big fights so they were done for the day after that. You think they would learn to not fight.
