Happy Halloween

Another fun night filled with lots and lots of candy. The kids love Halloween, but I guess what kid doesn't? We went and saw the Grandparents and then went to a trunk-r-treat. I think the kids had the most fun handing out candy when we got home. Next year we'll just buy them a small bag of candy and let them hand out other candy to the kids who come by. Here are the kids dressed up.
Camden was a zombie. He loves them and so this fit him perfectly. The blood spot on his face is a tattoo. I thought they looked pretty real for a tattoo.
Jackson was Spider Man. He loved running around all day pretending to be him. When we were going up to get candy it only took a few cars for him to figure out what was going on. Once he did he loved it and would yell, "I want candy!" while he held his bag open. Emery was Sofia the First. It's a newer show on Disney about a princess. She loves it and had to be her for Halloween. She loved pretending to be a princess all day... well she does that everyday, but today she wore a costume too.
Beck was a vampire. He had tattoo bite marks on his neck. He loves the cap and I'm sure will wear it a lot for the next few weeks.
It was cold but fun. Now we have a load of candy for the kids to eat. Good thing they have school off tomorrow so they can get more eaten.

Dapper Beck

The boys have to do vocabulary words now. The word for the day was handsome and this was Beck's page for handsome. I love that is synonym is dapper... who used the word dapper anymore? His sentence says, "When I am 25 I will be handsome." I guess he thinks he has to wait till he's 25 to look good. His picture is funny. He drew a hand on his chin like he's thinking. I love the pictures they come up with sometimes.

Dress Up Week

This week the kids were able to dress up each day. Monday was crazy sock day. The night before we made some socks with beads, glitter glue and Balloons. Camden thought the balloon was a good idea, but when he got home at the end of the day it was popped. He said it got annoying. It made him walk weird, so I'm not surprised it didn't last all day. They also found one of my long socks and thought it was funny how high it went on their legs.

 Emery made some socks too.
Yesterday was hat day. Beck wore a Boston Red Sox hat. He thought the B was for Beck. Here Beckham is trying to act like a gangster... not sure why, but that's why he's wearing what he is. (this was after school)
Today was wear red for red ribbon day and tomorrow is Halloween. They boys have loved all the week and can't wait for tomorrow.

Camden's Imagination

The kids played really nice together pretty much all day today. Even Cam and Emery were nice. After we put up the Halloween stuff Camden was missing for a while. I went to his room to see what he was doing and this is what I saw... a kid laying on the ground and Camden nowhere to be found. I knew it wasn't Cam, but it was a little freaky at first to see. Camden was making his room all decorated for Halloween. He said the kid was running and his gun got caught and then he fell on the ground.
Pretty sweet kid.
Then another got pulled under the bed.
I think it was meant to be like a haunted house because this was his sign-in book for guests.
I love his imagination, especially when he actually uses it. He loves all things Halloween, so I'm not too surprised he did this. He even let Emery help him put things together. I am going to have to watch him though. I scare easy and he knows that. Tonight when I went to put them to bed he was standing in a small closet next to their room. All I could see was a tiny eye peeking through the door. It scared me a little and he thought he was pretty funny. He is defiantly like his dad in that way. I'm just glad to see him so happy and joking around.

Decorating

The kids kept asking why we don't decorate for Halloween. I figured the pumpkins were enough, but I guess not. I'm not big into decorating, I'm just not really good at it. Today while we were at the store we picked up a few things to use. It made the kids happy at least. And yes, this is all the decorating I'm doing for Halloween. The door says "zombie crossing." Camden had already says he gets it when Halloween is over.

Disney On Ice

Last night we did Emery's special night and it was lots of fun. We took her to Boise and watched Disney Princesses on Ice. I remember going to Disney On Ice when I was younger and loved it. Emery wasn't too sure what it was, but we said princes and she was hooked. They really clean up when people buy souvenirs. She got Ariel and a snow cone.

I think all of the kids would have loved it too. Mickey, Minnie, Goof and Donald were the hosts. They showed 4 short versions of 4 princesses.
Little Mermaid was first. It was really good. All of the fish were fun to see and Emery couldn't take her eyes off of it.

Next was Tangled. The horse was my favorite part, although to have been the two people in the costume couldn't have been fun.
Next was Brave. The songs and skating was my favorite here (maybe because of my Irish roots), but the shortcut of the story wasn't that great. When Merida shot arrows it was a little fire work.
Last was Beauty and the Beast. They had a really cool beast costume but I didn't get a good picture of it. The song "Be Out Guest" was fun to see all costumes.
Then at the end all of the characters came out one last time.

It was so much fun and we'll go again next time it comes to town. Emery still is talking about it. She had a blast and that's what really mattered. Her favorite part was Ariel.

Corn Maze Take 2

The kids asked a ton, so we took them all to the corn maze. This time though no one got lost. They all loved it and thought it was pretty sweet.

Jacks had a ball. I'm sure he would have been a great farm boy.
Yesterday Emery and I were doing puzzles and i noticed she put her one finger in her mouth. That can only mean one thing with her, so I told her not to pick her nose and especially not to eat it. She gave me the best answer ever. Emery told me that sometimes she just feels like eating green things, so she eats them. Maybe it's time to show her broccoli, salad, peas, bean... all sorts of green things.
Cam got sick last night at like 2 am. I'm pretty sure that there should be a rule and something in your body that says there is no puking between the hours of mid-night and 6 am. So Cam stayed home today and I heard Beck tell Camden that if we go to Target for Camden to look at the new Skylanders and tell him what cool ones they have. Not sure what Beck thinks were going to do today, but Target is not one thing.

Pumpkins

We painted pumpkins this weekend. I love that the kids will paint them and not carve. I am not good at carving them. Emery did Daisy Duck, Cam's is next to her and it's a zombie. Beck's is on top and it's name is Popthorn and he's from the game Skylanders.
We got a few green ones, which were perfect for Brad to do TMNT. They look pretty sweet. Now we'll see if they last until Halloween.

Training Jacks

I finally did it, I finally started to train Jackson, well on the toilet that is, he's wild in every other way. He is doing pretty well so far. He is starting to tell us he needs to go and has made it at least once a day. The only problems with him is he for one doesn't want to drink a lot. I try to get the kids to drink a lot so they go more and learn faster. So one day he only went twice and the first was an accident. The other problem is he has to wear pants. The other kids loved to just have undies on, but he refuses to do that. Oh and to start I always just keep their little toilet in the front room. I know, nasty, but it helps them I think and it's only for the first week or so. And like all the other kids, he loves to play with an electronic while he goes... I guess if it works.

Cam's Hole

Camden has finally lost his second tooth. It's been loose for a while now and really ready to come out. Brad pulled it out Monday. I'm hoping since they are coming out so slow his mouth will grow and they won't get so squished like Beck's, and not need braces.

Beck's Night

Beck had is special night this past Friday. He chose to go to Chilies for dinner. I love going with him because he talked non-stop. He asked me to tell him my favorite things about him.
Thanks to it being fall, we went to a corn maze. Beck loved it and it was pretty fun... for the most part.
When we started he said we should split up. I told him no, we need to stay together and not to go away. We came to a spot that had a shortcut or you could stay on the path to the curve. They both would meet up in the end. I told Beck we should go one way and started to walk. He went the other way, which I didn't care, but when I came to the other side he wasn't there.  Still not too freaked out, I figured he was playing. I looked around the area we were in for a few minutes, then I figured he kept walking. When all was said and done he was lost for about 12 minutes. He said he wasn't scared, but I'm sure he was a little, I know I was. I asked if he heard me yelling his name and he said yeah, he just didn't know if he should say anything.... ugh kids. We finished the maze then went to orange leaf for ice cream. He made Camden really want to go to a maze, so we'll have to take the other kids so they can have fun in it too, just not get lost.

Kids Are Fun

I'm not sure why we were talking about it but we said that we could probably fit Cam in a suit case. He wanted to try, but thanks to Santa using our suitcases now to hide things we don't have one to try out. We did however have a bag. If you know Cam you know he is tiny and flexible and he fit great into the bag. He may be claustrophobic now, but.... he did fit.
He was happy to get in and finally get out. Jacks wanted to try right after but when he went to put his head down he freaked out and didn't like it any more.
It's getting colder, which I love. I get tired of dressing the kids in shorts (or at the end of winter I'm tired of pants). We have put Jacks in pants a few times already the past few weeks, but for some reason today he wasn't liking them. I put them on and he was mad because his legs weren't showing. He didn't get why they were covered. The problem could have been because his Hulk socks were covered a little, but to make him happy I had to roll his pants up for a while. Such a picky little boy.
