Double Digits

We now have 3 kids in double digits, which just means time is going too fast and they are all getting to old. Sunday Emery turned 10 and she couldn't have been more excited to do so. It took her a while to finally pick what she wanted to do for her birthday but she finally settled on a movie. We went and saw "A House With a Clock in it's Walls." It was a little scary at parts but the girls loved it.
Emery didn't want to sit next to us, they wanted to sit alone. She was mad we came because the boys (the 12 year old boys) are allowed to go to a movie with just their friends.
After we went home and had Chick Fil A nuggs, cupcakes and presents.

I think she had a really good time with her friends who were able to come. She likes spending time with friends and having the birthday attention on her.
Emery has grown so much this year, maybe not it height, but in pre teen attitude and acting. She is still doing so well in school and is very happy she has the teacher she does. Her first boy teacher seems like a big deal to her. I'm not sure she really likes math as much as she did in the past, but she likes the rest of school. Emery and Jacks are still the best of friends. She says she gets tired of him and sharing a room, but I know she depends on him just as much he does her. She loved playing school on Grandma's school boards. Emery is really good at getting what she wants, mainly from Brad, but I was the same way. The perks of being an only girl. Emery love girl days. She likes going to lunch and then we have to shop after. I've never cared as much about an outfit as she does. She could shop everyday all day, its her favorite thing to do, put out new clothes. At least once a week she tells me a new outfit she needs and why, like new shorts that she can wear PE day so she can move around better. It has started to get colder so I has changed to leggings now. Then a jacket she saw she needs because it would be totally cute with pants she has. She also HAD to have a robe. That she did get for her birthday and has actually worn it a lot more than I thought she ever would have. She is like me with hair. She cares so much about what she wears, and even tired to get me to let her wear makeup but her hair looks like she doesn't have a parent to tell her to brush it. (I guess in all fairness neither brad nor I do tell her to) She could go days without brushing it if we don't remind her, but her outfit need to be on point. (this is totally not a complaint, I love it). Looking back, Emery had a fun year. She loved playing soccer and did great in that. Softball was even better. Brad said she had a .750 batting. She can't wait for those sports to start again. Emery was in a play and while she had her days where she didn't want to go, she loved it for the most part. Her favorite thing has to be when she was a flower girl in her cousins wedding. She did have to get her tonsils out but she also got to quit doing piano. Looking back at all of the pictures she has really gone from looking like a little baby girl to a almost young woman (don't' speed it up too much). Emery is so kind to everyone and really values her friends, she is a great friend and sister. She is always there to give me a hug when she sees me and a kiss goodbye when I go to work. She is my shopping buddy and I cant wait to do it more and more as she gets older. I love the relationship my mom and I have and I hope to have the same with her. Emery's favorite food is fired chicken, her favorite toy or game are Legos and her favorite subject is computers.

Fancy Jacks

Last week we had to run a few places and told Emery and Jacks to get shoes on. Jacks thought he'd be funny and put on Emery's watermelon flip flops. He wore them out and everywhere we went that afternoon. Eventually he got a little embarrassed and was mad he wore them, but for the most part he thought he was pretty hilarious.

Halloween

Jackson loves Halloween and all of the scary things that goes along with it. He still gets scared, but he likes to try and be extra tuff and pretend he's not. Ever since the stores started to put out decoration he has asked if we can get some for the house, so finally this weekend we got a few. The cute fall ones are grandma's. The scary ones are Jacks. The zombie squirrel is his favorite one.

Fun Times

I've been able to watch my great niece a few time and it's been a lot of fun. You forget quick how much you have to baby proof thing, but she had fun showing me where I went wrong. The first time we watched her she didn't care about the pops, the second time, as you can see was a little different. I think we'll start at a young age and get her hooked on them.
The dogs were her favorite thing to chase. Thankfully the dogs were to scared to know what to do. They tried to hide all day away from her.
Emersyn is a good little mom. Once she got home she followed Hayden all over the house and played with her. The kids are always really excited when I tell them Hayden is coming over.

While at grandma and grandpa's house the kids have to pick up after their dogs. While we should have at our old house, we didn't. I don't think they really like it but it's good for them to do.
Why put the phone down when you want a snack? Jacks figured out how to multi task with the pop socket and his snack.
I may regret starting this now, but Jacks has started piano. He asked at the beginning of summer if he could start because he saw a Mario piano book. I told him I'd think about it and really just hoped he forget until he was 8. Well he didn't and he asked weekly about it and he even started to just sit at the piano with a book pretending he could play. I told him we'd give it a try and he is very excited. It's only been a few days, but so far he seems to like it. I am taking it very slow with him because he is still a little young, but he doesn't seem to mind.
Jackson's favorite thing to do here is be pushed by Brad on the swing. He gets going pretty high, but he loves it. I'm impressed he can hold on so well, but if you're that high up I guess you would hold on really tight.

Dress Up

The boys had spirit week last week and dress up for it a few days. Monday was miss match day, I didn't think to take a picture the first couple of days. Tuesday was country or country club. They wore a polo and basketball shorts. No matter how much we told them country club was nice pants and a polo, they didn't care. Wednesday was Disney day. Camden went as Christopher Robin and took our Winnie the Pooh pop with him. Beckham went as Jack Skellington.

I don't think they did Thursday but Friday was Hawaiian day which lead up to the social that was after school. Camden looks more like he could be in Jumanji, but it works. They had a lot of fun picking out outfits to dress up in.
Wednesday they also had a combined activity and had a paint war. I love how Beckham is covered and Camden you can't really tell he was there. He told me his face was covered, I guess he didn't see Beck's face.

Fair Time

It's that time again.... fair. We decided to go this year and try most things out. We ate some tasty food, doughnut and mile high fries being the best, played one game (because they are a rip off), watched a less than stellar magician, saw lots of animals and rode a few rides. The kids had a blast, so that made it worth it.

Jacks got to wear a conductor hat and yell "all aboard" which he thought was a lot of fun.

Emery landed a quarter in a cup that was in water, so she got some free candy.

Beckham was too tall for the farmer face.

Labor Day

Since everyone had Labor day off we decided to make it a family fun day. We went out for lunch, played games and watched movies all day. Then for dinner we split into groups. The boys and I made a dessert, dirt cake, and Brad and the younger 2 made burgers for dinner. They all had a lot of fun with it.

The past 2 summers I've done a reading BINGO so the kids read in the summer and have fun with it. They get different prizes for the BINGOS they gets. One is a snowasis, 3 is a free chore week (they don't have to do the chore they're on), 5 is a game day and black out is a book or $10 to Barnes and Noble. Emery and Beck are the only two that finished the whole thing this year. Jacks and Camden got a game day, but that's it. They love doing this, so I think its something we'll keep up.
