Random

Jackson saved some money and bought toys with it. He loves toys and plays with them for hours. I love getting him toys and listen to the stories he makes up.
Emery helped me meal prep last week. I had a lot of zucchini and squash and so I froze some of it to save it. She likes to help cook and is good at it as well.
Luna loves her queen blanket spot. She even likes it when it is a little empty. We close the top and she will sleep for hours. Last week we forgot she was in there and 'lost' her for a while.
COVID really is a weird time. We got masks for the family but the kids ones were out. We had to improvise with Jackson's.
Emery had girls camp this week. It was a little different this year. They did things during the day then slept at home. She was worn out on Friday when she got home she didn't make it very far with watching something.
She made it to the login screen.

Dogs Turn 4

Today is Eevee and Luna's birthday. They are now 4, or 28... just depending how you look at it. They got some meat this morning as a birthday treat. They were so happy.
Then they have spent more of the day just relaxing. Nothing new for them. They are pretty lazy dogs.

Lucky Peak

This weekend the boys went with Uncle Jayson and his boys boating. They did the tube and had a blast. I was excited that they actually went. Sometimes they are homebodies; maybe they have had too much home time lately. They both said they would love to go again.

Both boys were worn out that evening and slept through the movie we watched.

Mystery Meal

Brad saw this idea on Facebook for a fun date night/ family night. You have one person walk down and isle and the other says when to stop. They can take one step, but they have to pick a food that's around them. We decided to try this with the kids. Emery had the dessert section.
 Jackson was the chips/side.
Beck had drink, Camden had main dish and I had random freezer isle, which ended up something to go with Emery's dessert.
Our dinner for tonight. Brad is going to pick a movie, kind of the same way. I'm not sure the kids fully got what we were doing until the end, so we may have to do a take 2.
It was a fun evening. We ended up watching "Open Season". Two kids would pick a number and Brad would go down the first and over the second number. First was "Uncle Drew," then "Good Burger," which we tried and lasted 10 minutes. The last pick was the best and we finally stuck with that.

Karl Malone

For year the Barnes have measured themselves using this picture of Karl Malone. It is fun to see how tall Brad was when he was the kids age vs where they are at now. Beckham towers over Brad.
Beck is at his neck and so is Brad. Camden is the red dot by the J in Jazz. Emery is the red dot on in the white and Jacks is the yellow just under her. Cam is around how tall Brad was in November 1996 and Emery and Jacks are about where Brad was in March 1993
I got a text from Jacks the other day while I was at work. It came with this awesome selfie. Getting texts and Pictures from them is the best part of the work day.

Grandma and Grandpa Camp

It is that time of year again, Grandma and Grandpa Camp. The kids look forward to it every year and always have a lot of fun. Each year they say is it the best one yet. It's so great way for them to spend time with their cousins.
This year they went to Banberry's hot spring. They did lots of swimming and did canoes, stayed up late, ate lots of good food and shot bow and arrows.

The most amazing part of it all wasn't the 18 kids getting along most of the time, it was grandpa got in the water. Last time I remember him getting in water was when I was around 3-5 and he got in the YMCA pool to catch me or help me when I jumped in. Grandma needed help with all of the younger kids in the water, so he had to get in.
Another great camp for everyone. All of the kids fell asleep a little on the way home and slept great that night.
