Drummer

Emery finally had her first band concert. After being in band last year and doing drums again this year, they were finally able to have a concert. It was short, maybe 20 minutes, but it was good to see and hear her play. She's doing so well with the drums. Drums is ALL counting and in piano, she was not good at doing that. I think she is doing much better with it now though.

I Hope They Call Me on a Mission

Elder and Sister Arrington have been called! Grandma and Grandpa Arrington put in their papers for a mission and this past week they received their call. The day the call came we had fun guessing where they may be going. My guess was Ireland or North Carolina, and I was right. Charlotte North Carolina mission. That is part of the mission my dad served when he was 19. They are serving for 23 months. It is going to be weird to be so far from them, but we are all so excited for their journey.
Uncle Paul said if anyone guessed right he'd get them ice cream. I said I don't like ice cream so we didn't need anything. He send cookies, which I think the kids liked more.

Round Up

Beck was not super pleased to come home to find out Camden had dressed up his guy and set him up. Although its kind of the perfect representation of Beckham. The excitement for his man doll has defiantly worn off since he got it. This pay check, Beck said no stupid purchases.
The dogs have been spoiled since COVID. They do not like being alone now, and most days they come into the room with me. This week they found the chair is a comfy place to sit. I do leave the window open for the fresh air and they get a little cold....
But again, they are spoiled and stay plenty warm.

Jackson's teacher said he has an invisible halo above his head, that he is one of the best students in the class. He never has to be told to do his work or stop talking. One day a kid asked why Jackson had so many points, then he said Jackson should get a WOW award. The whole class voted and he got a WOW award. He got a pencil from the office and his name in a drawing at the end of the month. Home he is crazy loud Jacks, at school he angel Jacks. We love both Jacksons,

Pumpkins

When we went to Twin last, we got pumpkins from Grandpa Barnes. This past week we decided to carve and paint them. I prefer just to paint. I'm not creative enough to be able to carve what is in my head.

In front its mine, Beck's, Cam's. Back is Jacks' and Emery's. Emery did a red M&M.
Brad worked on another project while we did that. Each skull is for one of the kids.

Pay Day

The boys got their first pay check today. They were all excited to get in the car after they got their checks. Beckham asked if he was allowed to open it. The second they got home they deposited it into their accounts and wanted to spend money.
I am not sure why Emery looks scared.
Beckham saw this dummy when we went to Spirit Halloween a week ago. He was set on buying it when he got paid, and he lived up to that.
It's so much worse that I thought, but also kind of awesome.
I have a feeling this is only going to get worse. To be a teen and pretty much all your check is just yours to spend.

She's a Teen

Emersyn is officially a teenager now! We have 3 teens. We have been trying to do a birthday trip with Emery for a little bit now. Last year she had COVID and no one could really travel. This year, COVID is ramping up again we gave her three options, we could wait for the last minute and if it's okay we can go on a weekend trip, we can wait and try to go Spring Break, or she can have a bigger birthday, take the trip money and put it into a birthday; she chose that one.
She got a few more presents than we'd normally do for a birthday, she loves to take pictures, so we got her a new camera.

She was then spoiled by her cousins Kiara and Payton and he brothers got her things as well.
Grandma and Grandpa got her a flower as well.
Then we took 10 kids to Wahooz. It was mainly cousins. Jackson brought a friend to play with.
I'm not sure if Brad typed it wrong or they looked wrong, but I guess she's turning 10.
They had pizza, cupcakes, unlimited pop and then could go play. We had 3 hours of unlimited play around Wahooz. They are doing construction there as well, so there aren't any prizes, so even the games were unlimited. They didn't get tickets, but could play pretty much any game they wanted to, as much as they wanted

She had a blast and loved the bigger birthday.
I can't believe we have another teenager. Like all of the kids, I remember the day they were born so well, and while it feels like a long time ago, it doesn't feel like 13 years. Emery is figuring out who she is more and more each day. She loves tie dye anything. Most things she has now has something tie dye within it. If she could, she would have a purse for every day of the week, and maybe even a few extra just in case. She has found a good group of friends at both school and church, which helps her to go having some one to look forward to seeing. Emery loves all things girl still. Not only bags, but make up, face products, nail polish, clothes, shoes, lotions and perfumes. The only thing we have to work on is her hair. The one thing she doesn't care about. We're lucky if she brushes her hair in the morning. (she does wash, she just hates to brush her hair) She loves to play with Jackson still. Jackson isn't as easy to convince to come and play, but when they do, they both love it. She is in the yearbook class this year and loves that she gets to take pictures and help put the book together. It's fun watching her learn now to do more and more things. She loves to bake and cook and she is able to follow instructions better now. She loves to make pasta and alfredo sauce. Right now she is making sugar cookie. Emery is the best at keeping the family together. She always starts games or movies to watch together. While we don't every night, Emery and I pick showed and watch them together. We've finished a few different shows, and I think "Pretty Little Liars" is our next show. Emery also loves soft plushy things. She collects squashmallows, animals that a big and soft pillows, she also has 3 or 4 blankets on her bed. Not because she cold, because they are soft. Emery also likes to paint. She went through a few weeks where she did a lot of pour paints. She is the only one to finish the reading BINGO for the summer. Which means she also gets an extra special night. Another thing girly Emery loves is getting her nails done. I'm not good at keeping nails long enough to paint and look good, so we don't go very often. She did want to start piano up again this school year. I'm not sure what pushed her to that way, but were doing it. I think she is at a point where she is glad she is the only girl, and I could not have asked for a better daughter. She is always up for a girls day and can spend the whole day out shopping and running around town. Emery's favorite subject is math, her favorite food is fried chicken and favorite  toy or game is Roblox.
