Emery's Special End of Summer

Yesterday was Emery's special day and an end of summer party with the kids. Emery got to pick where we ate and an activity to do. She picked Golden Corral. The reason why, they have cotton candy. At least the kids like it I guess.
She also likes the chocolate fountain they have there, as you can see.
Then we went and saw "Minions". My thoughts on that show, wait for it to be at Redbox, It was not that good.
After we did some shopping with the kids and played and then watched another movie before bed. They had a fun day, which is what really matters.

First Day of School

On Thursday the kids started school. It seemed like an early start date, but I think they finish earlier too. They were all really excited to start, which makes the first day easier. Also this year they are starting a new school, so that added a little bit of nerves for them, but they all did great.
And to follow tradition we made then a candy letter for them to see after school. They love getting this each year.

This also mean that now all day it's just Jacks and me. I have to say I am more excited for it this year than I was last. It will be fun to just have Jackson and no one around to bug him all day.

The House

Well it's final, we no longer own our house! On Tuesday we closed on the house and officially don't have to worry about it. It's such a nice feeling to have for sure. Now onto the next chapter of our lives.

Kids

Since our crazy week we really haven't done much, which I am ok with. We went to the library and the kids got a little book on tape. They spent the afternoon listening to it. It was nice to have it quiet and them 'reading'.

Beck is my son, He asks all the time to help me clean. I really try hard to give him something to do, the biggest problem is cleaning is a stress reliever to me and I enjoy doing it too. He decided to reorganize the entertainment center for me. Then he asked if I wanted him to do the same to the fridge. I thought he meant the front so I said sure. He meant inside.... After I saw that I told him he didn't have to do all of that work, but it was sweet for him to offer. Beck is funny and tells me all the time how much he likes to clean like I do and how well he listens. It is really nice how well he just does chores when I ask him to. Now I just have to remind myself that he needs to keep learning to clean and I have to let him help... easier said than done.
I have started to make the boys read for games. They have to read a few chapters and tell me what they read each time they want to play games.  Why didn't I do this sooner. They have done really well with it and it's a great way to get them excited for books. They are readying Goosebumps. I read those so it's nice to see them come around and my kids liking them.

We did a few projects this week and here is one of them. We put nails in shapes on wood, then the kids weaved sting on them. We did this on my birthday, and later that night I got them back as my birthday presents.
And I also got this from the boys. A CD that Camden got at the concert, a few random toys, a coupon book and money. It's sweet to me because it's really all they have. They looked for all they could give to make me feel special. We really do have some sweet kids.

Imagine Dargon

To end our crazy week or travel we went to Boise on Saturday. We let the kids get a first day of school outfit, out to eat, then Brad, the boys and I went to the Imagine Dragon concert. When we got into the car after dinner it was hot. That was in the car temperature, but still it wasn't much cooler.
We had decent seats and I think the boys had a lot of fun. It was loud, but they kind of liked that.

Brad and I went last year and loved it so we took the boys this year. It is a really good group with good clean songs. As a performer the group was really good and sounded great live.

When the crowd stood up Camden couldn't see really well, so he stood on the seat. He did this for most of the show, until some security guard told him he had to get down.
It was a lot of fun and we will go again if they come close again. The best situation would be Fall Out Boy and Imagine Dragon touring together.
