Beck's Day

Saturday was Beck's special night, or in this case his special day. He wanted to go and see The Lego Movie, so we went in the afternoon. For his lunch he choose to eat a hot dog at the theater. He loved it, I thought it smelled nasty. He also picked a kids pack out for a snack. The movie was pretty good and fun to watch with him. He was happy to brag a little to the other kids because he got to see a movie they haven't yet. Beck had been talking about this day for over a month now and we're glad he had so much fun.

Manicures

This year my mom and I are making goals together and each time we reach one we are doing a mini prize. Our first one was manicures. There is a hair school in town that does them for cheap, so we went there. Emery loves to have her nails painted, so I had her get one too. She mainly just got polish on, but still loved all of it. Emery sat so still and loves all the girl did to her nails. Everyone in the school thought she was the cutest girl ever, and I'd have to agree.
These are her's finished. They used nail polish pens to get the small designs. Surprisingly they are still on her nails today. My mom and I just got a solid color, not as cute but manicures really make your hands feel nice and soft. I think we may have to go and do this more often.

Last Day of Swimming

Today was Emery's last day of swimming, well last for a little bit, just until the next session starts. She has loved it and has learned so much. We got her a new suit last night. She looks so cute in it.
She has loved her teacher. It's been fun watching all the things they do and learn. This first session was more to get the kids comfortable with the water and to not be scared of it. Emery loved being able to float on the water. They didn't always wear life vests. This was just one of the things they did.
Jacks ended swimming a lot happier than he started. He knew if he sat I brought a fruit snack for him, so he was usually pretty good. A few years and he can try it out.

Hair

I am not good at styling hair. It's a good thing we only had one girl. The only bad part is she is really girly and likes having her hair done. I tried my first french braid on her the other day. Not great, but not bad for a first try on such thin hair. She thought it was pretty cool, which is what mattered.

Imagine Dragon

For Christmas Brad got me tickets to see the group Imagine Dragon in concert. They are a really good group that we both like. We spent Saturday in Boise and say them that night. Before we headed out for the concert.
It was a really good concert. Well once they finally took the stage. There were two opening acts I could have done without, but the main group was really good.
It was so loud, but good. The only other concert I have been to is Josh Groban, and well that's a who different feel than a concert like this. Both were really good though. I love it when the singer actually has talent and can sing, and their music is stuff that pretty much everyone can enjoy.

Basketball

Basketball has started again. This year Camden actually gets to play. Beck has really improved since last year. It has been fun to watch him grow. I love their coach. It's all about having fun and he's good at making sure all the kids get a chance with the ball. The kids on the team have a lot of fun and play pretty well too.
This past game a great thing happened for Beck. He got the ball quiet a few times but every time he did he would go to half court and stop to pass it off. We kept yelling for him to keep going but he wouldn't. Finally, near the end of the game he got a little confidence and took it farther. He tried for a basket but missed. I was just so excited he actually tried. He got the ball again and went to for the basket again and made it! He was so excited. I didn't get a picture of it, but he remembers it and is still excited he got it. I hope this gives him a little confidence to keep trying to make baskets.
Beck is one of the tallest on his team, which helps for blocking and rebounding.

On the other hand Camden is one of the shortest, but he is pretty quick. He needs to get a little confidence like Beck is getting. He tends to stay in the back of the court or the side. Every once in a while he'll try for the ball, but quickly hands it off. I think by the end of the season he'll try for a basket. We're glad he is able to try it out this year. You always know where the ball is in games like theses, 90% of the kids are right on the ball trying to get it.
