Lagoon

This weekend we took Emery and Jackson to Lagoon. It was a present they got for Christmas, and after what seemed like forever to them in waiting time, we went! It was nice to take the small car. I had to work that morning and as I pulled up home, they were in the front waiting for me.
We went and did a little shopping, they didn't get anything that night. Then we went to dinner and a movie. They were really excited for the comfy seats and to see 'Toy Story 4.' We thought it was a good movie, not my favorite but still good. (notice how many times Jacks done peace)
The next day we spent all day at Lagoon. Jackson wanted to the cannibal, so we went there first. Emery wasn't up for that so her and Brad went to the rocket. This was Jackson's first big thrilling ride and he picked a big one. We were seated in the front row as well, which was a little more freaky. As we got to the top I realized how much more scary it was having my tiny baby strapped next to me. While I know it's safe, I was worried about him. When the ride ended he looked kind of scared, but once his mind processed what just happened, he loved it. Emery hated the rocket and after their two big rides, the thrill ones were done for the day. There are plenty of other rides they loved to do, which kept us busy. We decided to do Lagoon-a-beach at 11:30 and spent about 2 hours there. It was a good idea, because later in the day there was a line to just get into the beach. The kids had their own money and spent some of it on the impossible games. They also went in shops and got stuffed animals. Brad can handle maybe 2 spinning rides, so I went on most of those with the kids. They don't bother me yet. We stayed until about 6:30 and left with tired feet and legs, but had a blast.

Maybe 5 min after leaving the park.

Grandma and Grandpa Arrington kept the boys busy with diamond art and going to "Toy Story" as well.

Next trip is Comic Con in a few weeks and it's the boys turn to count down the days.

More Summer Fun

I am glad that we are with my parents over the summer. My mom has been helping keep the kids busy. I remember as a kid cleaning my dad's blue car and loving it. Grandma had the kids help clean her car.

One of our activities was to make Tie Dye shirts. We got a kid off of Amazon, which was a perfect one and the kids loved it. I told Cam to put his on the plastic, but he knew better, now his sweats have a big blue spot on them from the color.
Beck tried the ombre method of doing it. I think we needed a bigger brush.

 They turned out great.
We went to a lunch and hike with Grandma and Grandpa at Centennial. It was a decently hard hike, but the kids and dogs loved it.

The dogs were dead the rest of the day though.
Emery is done with softball for the year. She had a blast doing it. I am interesting in next year when we go to Boise. Just to see what their teams are like and if it's more competitive there or not.

Jackson Baptism

Last weekend Jackson was baptised. He was pretty excited but a little nervous as well. We had some family down and had a lunch after. He is our last child to be baptised, which is another 'last one' that we can mark off. It's a little bitter sweet. I'm glad for them growing but also want it to slow down a little bit.

Here is what Jackson had to say about that day:
the water was warm. and i was nerves and exited at the same time!i felt THE HOLY GHOST!a lot of people were there😊😊😊😊.

Softball

Emery is our only child who likes to play a sport and that if softball. It finally started last week and she has been loving it. It's a tough year because it's team pitch, so the girls on the team pitch. Last year she hit all of the time because of the machine. This year it is a lot of walks which makes the games long.

Summer So Far

This so far has been a very different summer. While during school time my day shift job is really good, summer time makes it not as nice. I am gone all day and don't have as much time with them, which has been a hard adjustment for me and the kids. It is good that they learn some independence, I'm just not sure I'm fully ready for it.
We got a pool for the kids to play in. We'll keep it up and change the water every once in a while and so far they love it. Emery got a pretty sweet burn, but it's better now. mainly her and Jacks spend a lot of time in it.

We had a slime day last Friday. Camden and Beckham went to a friends house, so it was just Emery, Jacks and me.
We made soap slime. It was not good. It was really sticky and then really hard. It did smell the best though.
Then we made fluffy slime, this was the best by far. It was the most fun to play with and worked perfectly.

It however didn't last long. It got super nasty the next day.
Next was Jello slime. It wasn't working so we kept adding corn starch which then turned into oobleck. It was probably the best oobleck we have made and it even tasted good.

The worst by far was the Pudding one. It was good for maybe 1 minute. I went to the bathroom and came out and they were a huge mess. The taste was ok, but not great.
Last we made Starburst slime. It really was just melting them and adding powder sugar. You could play with it for maybe 10 minutes, then it cooled off and was hard candy again.

Jackson has lost a lot of teeth lately and have a very hole-y mouth. I love how it looks.
Emery, Jacks and I went for a walk at CSI to look for painted rocks. We didn't find many but they took some to paint. They painted them while I was at work and then we went and hid them. We're going to have to go and look other places for painted rocks. The kids love finding them.
The kids text me at work some times, it's nice to talk to them a little bit at least. I asked camden to make muffins for dinner and I loved what he called the muffin tins, cupcake hats.
Emery and Jacks had the phone one day too and sent pictures. I love how Jackson thinks controller is spelled. That's how he says it, so he just sounds it out that way.
It's been a good summer so far, different, but still a good one.
