School Time Again

The kids have started school, and they were more than ready. Emery and Jacks are still in elementary, although this is Emery's last year before Jr. High! So far they both love their teachers and are having fun with friends at school. They both set out their clothes the night before so they were ready for the morning. They don't do that every night, but they do sometimes.
The boys are in 8th grade. This is their last time in Jr. High before High School next year! While they don't have every class together, they do have most. They are in most advanced classes. Beckham decided to not do band but Camden still is. They realized this week that their advanced teacher expect more, which I love. They have to do more than the minimum if they want a good grade, there are lots of projects and pop quizzes are a real thing for them.
We did candy posters again. This year we didn't made the candy part of a sentence, but Brad painted their names. Beckham said that at the end of the year he wants to have all of his friends sign it and frame it for the new house in Boise. They are all excited for the year. It's a little bitter sweet with the move. I really hope they take full advantage and make the most of the last year in school with these friends.

End of Summer

I can't believe we are here already. Summer break ends today. The kids are ready for school, even if they won't admit it.
The boys used their money from SDCC to buy a Nintendo Switch. Not bad for a weekends work. I have to say the switch has been fun; Mario is the best game.
Emery and Jacks played hide and seek the other day. I tried to hide Jacks, but he isn't quite so it didn't work.
I had surgery this past week. My left pinky and ring finger have been hurting and going numb. It's been happening for a while but did not think much about it until I started days when another nurse told me about why she had surgery All of her symptoms I had. I sent in to the doctor she suggested. He had me do  a few things, which took pain away but not the numbing. After a little wait, I had surgery. I was nervous to be put fully out and for the nerve block. Neither ended up being too bad. Versed is an amazing medicine. It was weird watch them on an ultrasound put the needle in and numb the whole arm. I couldn't move it for about 24 hours. A fully dead arm is hard to deal with. I forgot a few times and it just hit random things. You don't know how much you use both hands until you can't. If you know me you know I don't relax well. That has finally bit me in the butt. I wanted to do easy things with  the kids since I was working all summer. We made suckers, played boards games all afternoon and had a snack and TV show binge. We started Regular Show over and made lunch and snacks to have while we watched TV.  In between our projects, I slept a ton. The pain meds make me really tired, foggy and numb, which I hate. I was not very smart yesterday though. We went to Boise to shop for school and I thought I should be over needing pain meds. Boy I was wrong and felt it when we got home.
I had a sweet bruise or something on my arm after surgery. It didn't hurt, just looked bad.

I can't pour with 2 hands, let alone one.
I remember bits and pieces from surgery. When I was taken back I got really nervous. They said they were going to give me meds so I relax. They put an oxygen mask on, which I'm claustrophobic with things like that, so I was glad the meds kicked it. The nurse took the mask off for a second and the CRNA asked if I had a beach picked out to go to. I said I don't like sand and then I was back in my pre op room saying my throat hurt. I don't remember asking for a popsicle, but I got 2! The only videos Brad took were these, and trust me a popsicle is very hard to eat. I remember looking at it and it was close but then I couldn't taste it. I'm guessing that's what I'm doing with my tongue.
