Emery's Day

Emery had her special day this weekend. It was nice to do something other than a movie. We went to Arctic Circle and Lazer Mania. She's not very talkative, but she was smiling the whole time, so she had to be having a good time. 

Camden's Speech

The kids school has this leader in me program. It is meant to teach the kids to how be more independent and work for the things that they want in life and school. I really like this school and the program. The kids really like it too. The school had an essay contest for each grade and the kids told why they liked the program. Camden won for his grade and read it at a presentation today. He has so much confidence and talks well in front of people. We're so proud of the boy he is becoming. 

Pinewood Derby

Tonight was the boys pinewood derby. Last year they got last in every race, so we just wanted them to win at least one.

 We were surprised, Beckham got either 1st or 2nd in almost every race and Camden got 2nd or 3rd.  Their cars did a lot better this year. 

 Beckham was 1st overall in his pack, so that means he gets to go to district. He is really excited and can't wait. 

 Beckham also got 3rd overall. He got a sweet trophy to go with his win. 

Marvel Live

This weekend we went to Marvel Live in Utah. We go to Disney on ice a lot, which is princesses so it was time to go to a show with more super heroes in it. It was pretty cheesy but the kids loved it was was a lot of fun to watch. 

 Jacks got his face painted like wolverine. 

 We went with a friend and their son. Jacks loved having a friend with him.

 In the smoke it's Spider-man hanging upside down from Green Goblins flying thing. 

 There was lots of fireworks, cars and motorcycles in the show doing different tricks. It was fun to watch. This was the point where Hulk came out. 

 All the heros at the end after they won. We'll definitely go again next time it comes to town.

Valentines Day

The kids love Valentines Day at school and all the candy they usually get there. This year after school they left little notes in our bathroom. They may be recycled ones, but at least they thought of us. 

 Brad hasn't been feeling well. so it was up to me to be crafty and help the boys make school boxes. Theres a reason Brad normally does this. Beck did a Lego box.

 Camden wanted an alligator. Brad later told me that his eyes are in the wrong spot....as if any 4th grader will notice. 

Sick Jacks

A little while ago Jackson was sick. He threw up a little and when the kids do that we give them a bowl. He must have thought he was going to all night because he fell asleep like this. No was that bowl smelled good. 

Stairs

We changed a part of the house already. Brad had an idea to try this out. It's pretty bold but we like it. Well see how long other things last before we paint again. 

Beckham's New Talent

A few weeks ago I told Beckham that he needs to either find something to do or he's starting piano. Camden has 30 min of piano he has to do each day and Beck didn't have anything. So he didn't think of anything and is now doing piano. He said he was excited to start it, so that's better than forcing him to do it and him hating it. He's doing well so far. We have a very strict rule that Camden is not allowed near Beck when he is playing. Camden is a Mr.Know it all and will try to teach Beck.

I am usually good with planning things around when I have to work and sleep but last week I wasn't too smart. Due to coverage issued I had to work till 6 am on Friday and being the smart person I am I scheduled the kids dentist appointments at 830 am. I told the kids that I would be really tired and so to make sure they are good and cooperate and get ready when I tell them too. I must have worried Beck too much because at midnight he came downstairs all dressed and ready to go. Brad told him to change and go back to bed and the next day Beck didn't remember it at all. Next time I'll schedual better. 

The Price is Right

For Christmas all of us kids got my parents tickets to see the Price is Right traveling show. It came to  Boise. This is a show we watched all the time with my mom growing up so it was fun to go and see it live. It was almost exactly like the other show except more people were able to go up and the prizes were smaller. None of us were called up, but it was still a lot of fun to go and watch. 

Jackson

This past weekend was Jackson's first special night. This year he is old enough to get them and get what's going on, so we let him go first. He was so excited for it and talked about it all week. He chose McDonald for dinner. 

 We did it so late in the month so he could go and see Talking Panda aka "Kung Fu Panda 3." It was a pretty cute movie and he really liked it. 

Jackson loves to play pretend, but he's getting to where he doesn't like to do it alone as much, which since I'm the only one home with him, I'm the one he plays with. Tonight he wouldn't let anyone else try and play because they weren't doing it right. Playing with him is just moving the toys around and asking him what were doing. He is very picky with what they actually do, so as long as you play the exact way he wants you to he is good. The past few nights he just puts all the toys by his wall so he can get them out easy in the am. 

 I was shopping the other day and we passed the yogurt. Jacks kept saying he wanted to get the hair one, which I didn't know what he meant, so we went back and he pointed to this one. He said if you drink it it will make your hair go back really fast. So I got it and when he showed Emery she was excited for it too. This AM they had one and were disappointed their hair stayed the same, but they said they probably needed to drink it faster.  

Here's the commercial. I'm not going to tell them they had the wrong one because then they'll be sad again that their hair still doesn't move. The power commercials have on kids.
