Jackson joined a robotics team this year. His friend Luke is on the team his dad is a coach for, and they asked if Jacks would want to join. I think he was a little nervous to, but has really liked it. The start of the second snow storm for the year was the day their last competition was. Thankfully it was here in town. There are three rounds and the best score of the three wins on the course part. There are other parts, but they don't know who wont those yet.
These boys built a robot and programed it to run a course. You set the robot up, hit go (or something) and it does tasks. The best/worst part, it if it's off but even a half inch, the task doesn't work and they have to rest or just move it to the next one. We watched 2 runs, I wished I stayed for the last, but I thought it was going to be much later than it was.
The course of tasks they run. Each, if completed, is work different points.
Their first two weren't good, apparently. I thought it looked cool, but they didn't get many points. The awards ceremony was on a website that you could watch. When they went to call the winner from all 40 teams that day, he said they danced after their last run because they knew it was a good one, then he called Blockheads. Jacks' team won first in the course runs. We'll find out in a week or so how the rest of the competition went. Since the weather was bad, teams were able to do them at locations in their home towns, so that's the delay.
The final scored, they did really well on the last one.
The next 2 days were snow days from school. I love fresh snowfall.
