Day 10 August 11th

On the 11th we went to Port Rush. Is is a costal town that had an arcade and rides on the boardwalk. I didn't  go do that part and just sat on the boardwalk. The water was very cold, I'm not sure how anyone could swim in it.

First stop was getting Chick-fil-a for lunch. It was just as good here as America.

Mom was shocked by the water temp.
Another amazing part of this trip, meeting some of my mom's family. While all of her siblings are in America, she has a lot of family that are still in Ireland/England. By the time my grandma was a teen, both her parents had passed away. This split the kids up to go live with other family. Her youngest brother went with family after her mom passed away when she was really little. Tommy was a very young baby when this happened. We met his daughter Bernie (she is the blond one) and his son in law Adrian the man in the white shirt at the end. His wife is Mary, another daughter of Tommy, but she was sick and not able to come. Their daughter Leda came too. Mom has met them before and spent some time with them and they live in/near Belfast. We also met Paul and Bernadette (the first two in the picture), my grandma's older brother Patrick's kids. They live in England. Patty moved there for work due to it being hard at the time for Catholics to find work in Northern Ireland. Mom has not met them before, and crazy enough, Bernie has not met them either. They were so fun to talk to. Getting to know them and hear stories from them was another highlight of the trip. Another thing I found interesting is one brother spelled his last name Hannon and one spelled it Hannan. They aren't sure why the difference, but it did make it hard to find them, but mom did. A years ago mom sent a letter to all the siblings or my grandma introducing herself and stating she wanted to get to know them and gave their email address. The week before we left Bernadette and Paul were going through paperwork of their mom who had passed away and found this letter. They decided to email and see what happens. It was meant to be and we were all meant to meet.
