May is a very busy month for us, but it's also a really good month. Cam and Cailey are home now.
Well they are done with school. They left Monday for the UK for a month.
Flights weren't bad, and are still trying to get used to the sleep times. Since Cam's wreck he has been nervous in cars and cars being close to the one he's in. UK roads are not helping this. They are very narrow roads and driving on the wrong side of the road kind of messes with your mind too. Even with that, they are having a good time so far.
First birthday up is Brad. We had my parents 50th, then that Monday we drove to Pocatello to help the kids moved back, then Tuesday was his b-day. We took the day off, ate some good food and built a Lego. Perfect lowkey day.
Few days later the boys turned 20! I can't believe we have two kids who are no longer teens. The night before we drove to Twin so the next day we could help Charles with yard work. A lot of the siblings got together to help set his yard up for the season.
Then we drove home and all the boys went to see "Mortal Kombat 2". Emery was out with friends so Cailey and I watched a chick flick and did nails. Its been so much fun doing nails like this whenever we want.
When they got home we had meatball subs, Cam's birthday meal choice, and did cake. Beck wanted cheesecake and Cam wanted Tres Leche cake. Cailey and I made that and it was a hit. It turned out really well. Beck's birthday meal was the next day and he chose Pot Stickers.
It's a little harder as the kids get older to give a year review. They change some and go through a lot but it's more adulting things vs little kid fun things. They both are becoming amazing strong adults and it has been fun watching them as they grow from older teen to actual adult. Beck had a big year with work. He's a shift lead and taking on more responsibility that way. When they pull number, he tends to have some of the best. He's been really into watching movies lately, and while they aren't my cup of tea, it is fun hearing about some of them. He is still working towards his goal for moving and is excited for that adventure. Cam finished year 2 of college. He has grown a lot being away from home and having to take care of everything. We do still help some, but he is realizing the work school and work and eating and keeping a house is. He thankfully has had Cailey by his side the whole time too. He got into his first major wreck and is still healing mentally from that. And most exciting and importantly, he got engaged. It's been fun as a parent to watch them grow together and make the decision to spend their life together. I know it will be a great one.
