Sweet Tarts, Never Again

On Monday I got some Sweet Tarts. I'm not a huge candy fan, but they sounded good. I regrated that decision very fast. I bit a piece off of one and started to chew it and it was really hard. I took it out of my mouth and there was half a tooth. I guess thankfully it was a cap and not a permanent tooth. It meant less dental work to fix it. The best part was it didn't actually hurt. I was scared at any point it would be unbearable, but it never hurt.
I went in to the dentist on Tuesday, they saw what they needed to do and on Wednesday they started the fix. I really hate doing the molds. I have a filler tooth now, and in a few weeks go in and get the permanent one put on. Getting caps was the worst choice I ever made. They have only been pains since I got them. One this is for sure, I'll never eat a Sweet Tart again.

Smash

Today Cam and Cailey went to a Smash room and took Jackson. They went with another friend as well. Jacks has a blast. This was his first time going and he can't wait to go back. I love them as well, maybe it will be his next special night.

The Last for Beck

We are close to and end of an era for Cam and Beck; their last special nights. This month was Beck's last special night. He wasn't sure what he wanted to do but kept joking we should get the new Lego of  The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dur tower. We told him, if he pays part, we could get that, get a to go lunch  and build it. He liked that idea and we went for it. There were 3 books, 40 bags. We each took a book and went to work. We watched "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" (lame),
Aliens" and started "Scott Pilgrim VS. the World" (the worst movie). I finished first, then Beck. Brad worked for about 1.5 hours after us and took a break. That was about 12 to 5:30. We ate dinner and Beck worked for about and hour and a half after dinner before it was fully done. 5471 Lego pieces done and it looks awesome.

It now sits in Jackson room on display.
I have loved the special nights. I love seeing what the kids come up with to do and where to eat. For a long time Beck always picked Subway to eat, it was his favorite. He got what we have the HRB, Ham, Roast Beef and Bacon. He lost a tooth on one, Pokémon hikes, lots of good movies, going to Starset for the first time, Laser Mania, escape rooms, so many food places, Pop! hunting, corn maze, Orange Leaf, so many more, including his favorite one, dinner at Chandlers.  I will say it over and over; special nights were the best thing we did for the kids, and I have love all of the along time with the kids that we have.

First World Problem

On Saturday it was a little warm in the house in the morning but not bad. I went downstairs and noticed the air was on. About 45 minutes later I went to go dry my hair and noticed it was still on but not cooler. The air read 79 which was weird. I told Brad it's weird it's so warm, the temp says 79, but we have it set at 73 (which I think is super hot but don't touch a dad's air temp!). Long story short, the AC went out, on a Saturday morning on the first super hot day of the year. We called the management company, but really we didn't think we'd hear anything until Monday.  We closed everything and turned everything off. The high was about 95+, the highest I saw in the house was 86. We heard on Saturday evening it would be Tuesday morning and someone would come out.  Not ideal but we can live. BUT Saturday night we heard that someone should come out on Sunday morning. Sunday morning about 11 someone came out. Literally about 20 minutes later, it was fixed and cold air again. I prefer to be cold over hot. We all hated being that hot. We were all in front of fans and very happy to do a car ride with AC on full blast. For one of the first time our management company came through and worked so hard to get someone out to fix our air. I love cold air in the summer!

She's Growing Up!

Emersyn wanted Boba tonight. It has been a while since she had some, but we told her she could get it if she went in by herself. She confidently said yes, no problem, for boba she would. So on our way there I gave her my card and said go for it. She didn't think we meant it. To be fully honest, I did say I would go in, but she did it. This girl won't go to the end of an isle alone, so ordering, paying and waiting is huge for her.

I did take a picture partly just to annoy her... Mission accomplished.

Only Teens!

Our oldest babies graduated and our youngest turned 13! We did celebrate it early though. He wanted to have Jarom come up to spend a few days with him. Grandma and Grandpa brought him down when they came for graduation. That was Friday, on Saturday we went to TopGolf, and Sunday opened gifts.
Jackson needs his own bass guitar to keep practicing for Jazz Band.

TopGolf is a lot of fun. You don't have to be good at golf to have fun there Brad is good, the rest of us are okay.

On Monday- Memorial Day, Bryan and his family came down to hang out and eat some good food. We played games, ate good food and went to Scheels. I refuse to go on the Ferris Wheel, thankfully Jarom was excited to go with Jackson.

We spent all of Memorial day with Bryan and his family, it was a lot of fun and good to hang out with them.
Jackson has really grown this year. Being the youngest I think the kid can either be very dependent on your or very independent, Jackson is pretty independent. He will go off in Target alone to look at Pops or other figures (Emery won't go to the next isle alone). His band teacher brought up learning the Bass and he was really excited to try it out. It meant he had to stay after school once a week, but it was worth it to him. Jackson is the Deacon's Quorum President and he loves it. We hear from leaders all the time how impressed they are with him. He takes his assignments and runs with them, he makes sure everyone is set to pass the sacrament each week, he goes to meetings and gives ideas for activities. Jackson still has a very good imagination. He got some paints for Christmas and will follow tutorials on YouTube to paint pictures. He wanted a lot of figurines for his birthday and will still play with them in his room. He and Jarom were making a movie over the weekend and we could hear them play fight (pew sounds included). Jackson is a sensitive kid. He doesn't like when people say he did something, but he didn't do it. Even if its something small like left some trash out. But I think in turn, it makes him a very honest person. Jackson loved doing the robotics and has since done a few big Lego builds for his room. I love his room now. We put up 2 book shelves and he have them filled with figure displays. While he does play with his toys, he also has always been a kid to be patient and wait. We'd leave stores and he would wait until we got home to open the bag and look at it. He will play with ones he has now, but then set them back up on the shelf to look cool. I'm interested to see how he takes the older boys moving out. He really has loved hanging out with boys of them this year, but has gone to a bunch of movies and Walmart trips with Beck. Camden is always up for a trip to Collectors Outpost, which is one of Jacksons favorite stores. Jackson is always up for a good movie. We have had him watch some movies Brad and I really like and he likes most of them. Even ones that are more slow dramas that you don't think someone his age would enjoy. Like Shawshank Redemption is one of his favorites. Jackson's favorite food is fries. His favorite subject is Social Studies and his favorite game or toy is Roblox.
