FFN

This weekend we did our Family Fun Night. Brad and I decided we will just plan them and the kids can come along. Before there was way too much fighting on what we would do. We did another escape room, a Pirate one. This was Emery and Jacks first one. When we got there, Emery did not want to do it at all. She was worried it would be scary and that she would hate it. We did one that was meant for a lot of people and we killed it. We had over 30 minutes left. In the end, all of the kids loved it and all of them want to go back and do more.

For dinner we did another burger taste test. A bacon cheese from Big Bun, Bad Boy Burger and The Ranch Scottish Highland Burgers. Three was plenty. Big Bun won, but The Ranch was in a very close second. We want to try the Ranch again and try not just a bacon cheese.

All in all it was a really fun family day.

Camden's Turn

Camden asked Brad the other day to show him how to shave. He has a little dark peach-fuzz above his lip. He hates how it looks and wanted it off.
It is interesting how Beckham likes the hair (or doesn't care if it's there) and Camden hates it and wanted it gone. Still can't wrap my head around the fact they are both old enough to shave.

It's Back!

Friday I went into our bathroom and for whatever reason I looked up. It's back, the zombie, Never dead lady bug is back. While I don't fully think its the same one, I kind of worry it is. On a side note, how does out second story bathroom keep getting lady bugs in them? And if they are coming in, what else is able to come in?
By Saturday it was gone, which I don't think that makes me feel much better at all. I'm sure in a week or so, they'll pop out again.

Escape This

For Becks' special night he wanted to do an escape room. We did a jungle one and beat it. It was set up really well and was a lot of fun. That monkey in the back, it fell down after opening one of the locks and I may or may not have jumped... and jumped like 3 other times.
Eleven minutes to spare in saving the world.

Random

It finally happened, the dryer is dead. Since we moved the washer and dryer have been slowly dying. Brad did something and the washer is doing great. However, nothing has helped the dryer. We did get them before Emery was born, so they are at least 12 years old and have been moved a lot. It died, just after Cam washed his clothes. So we had to lay them out all night to dry.
Thankfully our rental came with a washer and dryer, so we are just using that one until we want to get a new set.
Not much other than cute puppy and Jacks pictures.

Big Project

The other day I cleaned the garage and noticed the kids memory boxes were over flowing. So we spent Sunday looking through all of our boxes and hope chest reminiscing. It was a lot of fun to see some old things and to make them easier to look at by putting pages in binders.
Brad and I around the same time. My in 9th... Brad in college.

Beck found his hobbit and Ewok costume and tried them on. He's grown a little.

New Room Project

Camden wanted a room with a door. We told him a few options but in the end, he and Emery decided to switch rooms. To make the loft a little more private we put up shelves to have some make shift walls. Emery loves how it looks and it turned out.

Now we just need to put contact paper on the brown of the shelves to make it look a little cleaner.

Snow Day!

Last week I asked Emery to take a picture of our menu board so I could make a grocery list. When I looked at my pictures and found this. Love this girl.
Last weekend we had a fun snow storm. It brought a lot of snow, and I loved it. I still hope we get some more. Emery had to beg Jacks a lot for him to go out and play, but once he said yes, they were out there for hours. All the clothes are huge on them, they had to wear Brad and my winter clothes because they don't have any.
Luna liked it more than Eevee, but still didn't like it much.

They made chairs, Not very comfy ones, but still something.
This is how Eevee put up with the snow, sitting right next to the heat vents to stay warm.

The Past Week (Ish)

The dogs don't know what to do without the kids home. It only happens 2 days a week, but they hate it. During COVID they have gotten so spoiled. Now when the kids aren't home, they follow Brad and I all over. Eevee made herself comfortable and took a nap. She was so tired and in a deep sleep. I guess she is kind of cute.

No one in the house really cared about the Super Bowl. Brad maybe did a little because well sports. The kids however like the tradition for lots of snacks during the game. We did a BINGO again this year and had way too many snack food. It was a lot of fun though. This is the first 5 minutes of the game, that's why they all look so into it.
Cam has mild pet allergies. Cats bug him more, but dogs can a little if he, lets say, rubs his nose in their fur.... He really loves the dogs and deals with sneezing in order to give them loves.
By the end of the game these two were done, so they spent the 4th quarter messing around bugging everyone else. It is fun to hear them play so well together still.
You can find Disney Drawing tutorials on YouTube, so last night we did one of them. Obviously, its not as easy as it looks. I love seeing how different they all turn out, especially when we are all getting the same instructions.

Couple of Fun Stories

A week or so ago Jacks was in our bath. I went into the bathroom later and the floor was wet. When I asked him why, he said he there was a ladybug he put down the sink. Didn't think more of it until the next morning the ladybug is back on the counter. It looked dead so I put it down the sink again.  Later that night back in the sink bowl.  I put it down again, and let the water run for a while. The next night it was back on the backsplash. I showed Jacks that the bug he found didn't want to die. We tried one more time with the sink, not sure why, but we tried. Yet again a day later it was back, over by Brads sink this time. Jacks and I were a little freaked out and decided to just put it outside. Thankfully it is not back... yet.
If you are sick and you try and force it out too much or too hard, you can burst something in you eye and look possessed. Maybe a fun Halloween night look, but not for going on a week.
I didn't notice anything until the morning when Brad looked surprised and asked what was wrong with my eye.
Day 1, nasty but not too bad.
Couple of days in, it spread some and got a deep red.
Today it is getting lighter, spread a little more, but I think finally on the mend. I probably have at least another week looking like this. Moral of the story, don't force things.
