Pop and Chores

Cam got a black dog pop and wanted to turn it into Luna. We were able to paint some white on her and make her eyes more brown. It turned out well and Camden loves it. Now we need to make Eevee.

 

The only bad part with pop hunting is the boys don't have an endless supply of money (neither do mom and dad but they don't get that; they just think they are the only ones.) So to help them get money I tried to think of a chore. Beck needed a little more to get one he wanted so I told him to pull weeds in the back and I'd give him some money. I was thinking 15, 20 minutes top and $4. One and a half hours later and Beck getting Camden to help, they had 3 bags full and pulled all over the yard. They really wanted money and worked really hard. They did get more than $4. 

4th of July

We had a fun 4th of July this year. We got out of town and went camping with Grandma and Grandpa Arrington in Hailey/Ketchum area. It was so nice there and it was good to just do something different. We went on a little hike.

We found this weird, random circle in the middle of our hike. It looks like it come from the "Blair Witch Project." Thankfully no evil came from it. 

Of course you have to have smores. It is a camping must which everyone loves to eat. 

There were chipmunks all over and since there are people around a lot they are used to it and come decently close to camp. The kids then fed them, which didn't help keep them away. They named them Chip Chiperson, Chippy and Buddy. Jackson threw one of them a Recess, which they loved. 

 

Jacks lit a few of his smores on fire, which if you ask me is the only way to do it. 

It got super cold that night. It was colder in the camper than outside in the am because the gas ran out and the heater was just blowing cold air.

We went into Ketchum for a parade, park and food. The park was huge and the kids loved it. 

The parade was an Idaho parade, lots of fire trucks and horses. 

But also lots of candy. Throwing candy turns kids into monsters as they rush to get them. 

We left early evening and made it home to watch the fireworks there. We went down the street and were able to see them really well. While we waited we took selfies... I'm not good at selfies. 

Emery Softball

Emery is really our only child so far who likes sports. She loves softball and was excited for it to start. This year she has improved so much this year, it has been fun to watch. She was the catcher a lot which she came to really like. Whenever she would bat she never would swing on the first pitch, which ended up working for her because she hit most of the times after that and made it on base. She's sad its over but is excited already for next year.

 

 

 

Grandma and Grandpa Camp 2018

Since it is summer it is time for grandma and grandpa camp. This year a week-ish before they took off Grandpa was in the hospital again. As a family we were determined to get him to camp, even though he couldn't stay the whole time. Before he got out the kids made cards and Emery made one hoping he was better so they could build things at camp.  

 The whole clan that came. Great Aunt Gerry and Great Uncle George came to help with the trailer and the kids after Grandpa had to go home to rest. I went up to help take kids and bring Grandpa home when he was ready. I was nervous to drive in the hills, so Grandpa had to ride with me. It was my first time driving there so I'm glad I had help.

 All week Jacks talked about how he was going to be with Keegan and Keegan was his friend. The first thing he did when we got all together was find Keegan and didn't leave his side all weekend.

 Emery's arm got pinched in the door of the camper some how.

 They made buckets and then had secret cousins and left small prizes for them in their buckets. All of the kids loved that. They played lots of games and build forts. I love seeing how fast they all become best friends again once they see each other.

 Grandpa showed them all how to build tents, which every kid loved doing. They all had plans to follow which made them all feel like they were doing it themselves.

 Grandpa taught them how they should build their tents toward the temple and the Lord and they will always follow the right path. I think every kid really loved it and learned from it.

This is where we went home. The kids love camp so much and look forward to it each year. We are so glad it was planned in Twin so Grandpa could go as well. I know they are already looking forward to next years camp. 

Jacks Day

This month was Jacks special day and he chose to golf. He had a lot of fun with it and did great. I like the outside ones because we can talk with them more.

 He even got a hole-in-one!

 And a massive snow cone that he had to show off to his siblings.
