Beck's Night and Camp

The boys had their first scout day camp yesterday. They were so excited to go and had a blast.
We did Beck's special day on Saturday. He was really excited for it and had some fun plans. First he wanted Subway to eat. He really loves it here. I think because he can choose.
While he was eating he said his tooth hurt. I looked and it and pulled a little and it came out. He thought it was pretty sweet he lost a tooth while on his special day. He lost another on Monday night too.

Next he wanted to go swimming. He said since Cam let everyone go to the drive-in with him, he wanted everyone to come with him too. We went to Nat-soo-Pa. It wasn't as nasty as I thought it would be and the kids had a blast. Emery and Beck went on the slide a ton. After swimming we went for Orange Leaf. It was a fun day for all of the kids.

More Projects

Last week we only did two projects, but they were both pretty fun.
One day we had a Lego day. First we decorated a letter with Legos. The pile you see if only like 1/3  of what the boys have. It was a little nuts to see them all dumped out.
They chose the Legos they wanted and where to put them. I glues them since the glue we used was pretty strong. After doing 4 of them I decided Jacks really didn't care, so I didn't make him one.
The finished products up close. They turned out pretty neat.
Then they colored their own Lego man creation. It's fun to see what kind of Lego guy they would have if they could choose.
Last we watched "The Lego Movie" and had a Lego snack. So the one that is all different colors was the first one I did. I'm too OCD to have them like that, so I sorted through them for the colors to match... on a snack that was gone in like 2 min. But they did look cool.
Another day we made grass heads. They put seed and compost in a nylon sock. I told them they could use their hands or a spoon. All of them chose a spoon so they didn't get dirty.

They were then able to put eyes on and color the base of their grass person. Now we get to wait a few weeks to see if they actually grow.

Everything that was Random this Week

Emery had her first eye appointment. We are getting her ready for school. She though it was really cool to sit in the chair and have her eyes checks. She passed with flying colors.
Isn't that such a cute face? Well he's not as cute all the time. For whatever reason we can not get Jacks to do #2 where he should. He refuses even though he knows he is doing something wrong. The other day his room smelled so bad. I figured it was from his nap time accident, so I cleaned his room and sprayed it, but later that night the smell was back. I soon noticed it was really bad when the AC came on. Yep you guessed it. He thought instead of getting into trouble he'd hid his mess down the vent. Luckily it was solid and an easy clean. We had a talk and hopefully that's a 'trick' he doesn't do again. The picture was taken a few day later.
Still not sure about our dog, but I'm dealing with him pretty well. He is funny to watch sometimes though. For whatever reason when I was watering the lawn he decided to try and attack the sprinklers, then he would get mad that he was getting wet. He did this for like 10 min. He'd not the brightest.
I was worried the boys would be totally crazy in the summer being home, but we have really good kids and they have been really good. They have done their chores without complaint too. A new chore is they move the laundry. It's so nice to have them do some of the little annoying things I don't like to do. I'm still a little too OCD to let them fold the clothes, but we'll get there.
This past weekend was Friday the 13th. Brad had a scary movie and treat night with the boys. These were the cupcakes he made. They watched "I am Legend" and ate theses. The boys though it was pretty cool and didn't get too scared from the movie.

The Start of Projects

Well summer is here and in full swing. It really hasn't been bad so far. We've only had a few little annoying things with the kids, but they have really been great so far. With summer here it also means we are doing projects again. I have decided to do it a little different this year. They wont be every day. I got too burnt out last year. Monday we went to the library to sign up for their reading program and get some books. Camden has really taken to it and loves it. He has already finished one book and read a lot of minutes. The other two days were swimming days. We had some nieces and nephews from Boise in town this past week and so we were able to hang out with them a few days. We went to Dirkies one day. The water is so cold, but that doesn't seem to stop the kids from having fun in it.

Another day we swam in Grandma Arrington's back yard. It's a good thing we found a bag for Beck's arm or this summer would be really boring and hard for him. Hopefully only one more month and then it is off.
I have a months calendar up for the projects we are doing and so the kids can look ahead to what is coming up. I think we all are exited for some that are soon to come. It should be a fun summer.

School's Out

It is officially Summer Break. The kids are really excited... I'll tell you in a few weeks if I am. The last day of school they had award ceremonies. Beck got an all A's ribbon, a ribbon for getting all his reading points and a ribbon, medal and trophies for all the minute math he completed.
Camden got and A's and B's ribbon and a ribbon and medal for the minute math he completed. They had a great year and are excited for 3rd grade. Emery is also ready to go to school. I think she is most excited for summer to end so she can go.
Now it's time for summer projects.

Baptism Day

Today the boys were baptized. It was such a special day for them and so awesome to see your own kids get baptized. They got suits for their special day, don't they look handsome?
They were pretty excited all week for today. I think as it got closer all the boys got nervous.

We just had to bag Beck's arm up so it didn't get wet. You could tell how happy and excited they were after they were done. Here are their thoughts.

CAMDEN
I remember that it felt so good to be baptized and receive the gift of the holy ghost. I remember I heard the holy ghost say,"I'm glad you were baptized". I remember that my cousins, aunts and uncle were proud that I got baptized. I remember I got some blessings.

BECKHAM
At my baptism I felt warm inside and I felt happy after I got out of the water. I remember that me, Zach, and Cam all got baptized on the same day and my family had lunch all together. When I got the Holy Ghost I felt good.I thought getting baptized was a good thing. What people said was"congrageilashens, good job, and how did it feel.

I loved how Beckham spelled Congratulations, so I had to keep it. He spells how I do. We are so proud of the choice they made today and for all the example they are to the younger siblings and cousins and their friends. They are growing up so much. Since about February or so I have been making them sing in Sacrament. I told them that since they can read they should sing with us too. It is such a sweet feeling to hear them sing out the hymns. They are learning "I Stand All Amazed" in primary and we sang that they other day. It brought tears to my eyes to hear them both sing out louder than normal to a song they knew. I'm still a little shocked that they are 8 years old, but it has been an amazing 8 years. Seeing your kids grow up is such a fun thing. I remember my baptism and seeing them today so happy and filled with the Spirit made for a perfect day.

Jackson is 3!

Today Jackson is three. Each year goes faster and faster. It's like he was born yesterday. He has been such a fun boy. He really keeps us on our toes and laughing all the time. Grandma and Grandpa Barnes sent Jacks a card with money in it. He was so excited to have his own dollar.
On Wednesday we went to Target. The kids had some money and they wanted to get him a present, so I figured he could spend his money. I kept asking if he wanted a toy and he kept saying no. The only one of our kids to say no to a toy. Once the boys got the things they wanted he was more into picking a toy out. He loves super heroes, so that's what he finally ended up with. We also went for ice cream. I probably should have cleaned his face first, but this is what he looks like most days.
Since the baptism was today we celebrated his birthday on Friday. Michelle made the cake again and it was perfect. We all loved it.

Good think no one was too grossed out, he missed the first time on the candles and a little spit came out instead.
I have no idea what I did, but right before he went to open his presents he got mad at something I did and was like this for a minute or so but soon got over it.
He loved the party and all the presents. Jackson, as I said, love super heroes, dinos and cars, He is 100% boy, well except the fact that he has to be clean. He hates when food or dirt gets onto his hands. Jacks is always asking for a napkin. He loves to change and if I don't watch he will change every nap time. Jackson also hides clothes that he loves to wear so I won't take them away. Little does he know that I take them to wash them and give them back. He gets suck on things he likes and doesn't like to give them up. Jacks is a good eater and eats better and with less fuss than most of the kids. His favorite food, me asking him now, is chicken, (although he loves fruit, hot dogs and chips). His favorite thing to watch on tv is Iron Man. His favorite super hero is America, aka Captain America. Jacks is good at making us all laugh. I'm sure he'll be the next kid to break a bone, probably a leg because he jumps off of everything. We all love Jackson and can't imagine our life without him.

Friday Nights

Since I work Friday nights Brad tires to think of things to do while I'm gone. Recently he has started a movie night with the boys. They usually watch older movies that Brad and I grew up with and for the most part the boys love them. They look forward to their movie nights. It's fun hearing the boys talk about movies that I grew up with and loved.

Emery's Night

Last week we took Emery out for her special night. We try to make her's in May because all the other boys have special day's of their own with all the birthdays.  She decided she wanted to go swimming. She loves the water and always asks to go. It was fun to just swim around with her. She's pretty good and tried really hard to movie in the water.
For dinner she chose Mcd's so we went to a park and ate it because it was so nice out. She tired to feed some ducks we saw, but they just ran off.

Also this past weekend we had family down for a birthday celebration for my Grandma Arrington. We decided to let Emery have a sleepover. We had Avery spend the night and Emery had a blast. She was so excited all day for her to come over. They played all the girly thing you can play then watched a movie and actually went to sleep easy. It was so much fun to see Emery playing with her cousin and another girl doing all the girl things she loves. We'll have to do this again.

Scouts

The boys are now in scouts and they love it so far. They have been looking forward to this for a long time. This week they had rocket races. None of the kids really worked that well, but it was still fun. They loved making them too.

They were excited to pass stuff off and we did a few at home. Apparently they did a few more at scouts because they earned their Bobcat. We were surprised they got it and they were happy. I will have a lot of those 'mom pins' by the time these boys are done with scouts.
