Baseball

The boys have started baseball. They have two games a week for about a month.  It was really hot, but they did really well. They look super cute in their baseball gear.
As you can see from their faces it was hot. By the end of the game it cooled down.

They both hit the ball the 3 times they went up. They had to use the tee once or twice, but they did really well. They got to base and Beck even made it home. He was so excited when he rant to home plate.
This is how Cam let his team know he wanted the ball.

We're happy they are getting a little more competitive and liking more and more sports. They have been practicing hard at home and it shows when they play. First Grade baseball is interesting because everyone gets to hit and if the ball goes in the outfield then everyone runs to get it. It's fun to watch though.

Emery's Room

Since it is summer the boys are able to stay up a little later, but Emery still needs her sleep. With her in the boys room it made it hard getting her to bed and them staying up. This weekend we moved the bedrooms around. She is now in the old toy room. I got room stickers for her to make it a little special. So far she has done great being alone, I just hope it keeps up. The boys were excited to get their own room.

Sweet Prize

Brad was in a golf tournament this weekend. It's a fundraiser of some sort for the hospital and he's done it the past two years. This year he won two prizes. One of the holes has a longest drive contest and he won a sweet chainsaw with that. What are we going to do with a chainsaw? Next his team won for the best score so he got a gift certificate to the pro shop at the course. That's a little more practical...all in all a good weekend for Brad.

MRSA Scare

We had an interesting week last week in our house. I have to say I'm glad it's over. Sunday Beck and Emery were sick. Nothing too bad, but not fun. Tuesday Brad and I celebrated 8 years of marriage! Crazy it's been that long, but it's been a great 8 years. The only bad part is I got sick. I guess with whatever Emery had, but it wasn't fun. Friday the kids wanted to swim in the pool. It was in the 90s so I let them. Emery came out with her suit to have me help her put in on and I saw her leg, that sweet picture. She gets spots often but never this big or bad. I took her into the quick care and they said it could be MRSA, a bacteria that is resistant to a lot of antibiotics and very contagious. We washed all we could in bleach, including the tubs and all surfaces. I washed all of her clothes in hot hot water and dried in hot heat. We were really careful about her getting near anyone all weekend. We found out this morning there is no infection, which is a good thing. We just don't know quite what it is, but we do know it's not as bad as it could have been.

Super Hero Day

Today we had a Super Hero Day. We did a few different project and the kids had a ton of fun. Target has a lot of Hero things on sale, so it made the day even better. All the kids got a mask and a cape. Emery was Wonder Woman, Jacks was Green Lantern, Cam was the Flash and Beck was Batman.
Apparently to Jacks Green Lantern growls.
 And poses like this.

They all got to color the cape how they wanted to. They only had Batman capes though.
We also made a beacon  and did some sand art.
And no Super Hero is complete without some sweet word tattoos. Jacks was pretty impressed with the tattoo part. They even watched some super hero cartoons at quiet time. It was a busy morning, but a lot of fun. I'm really glad were doing these projects.

Smart Boys

Wednesday the boys got awards at school. We went to assembly for it and it was fun to see how excited they were to get them. The both got an "all  A's and B's" ribbon and Camden got the most improved reader in his class. We are so proud of how well they have done all year in school and all they have accomplished.

Project Week 1/2

There were only two days of projects for this week, but the kids loved them. Camden said he is sad school is over but can't wait to do the projects. The second the kids wake up they ask when we get to start them. They also know where my list of projects are, so they look on that all the time to see whats next.
Thursday we made bird seed shapes. You use Knox gelatin and bird seed to make shapes. I was surprised it worked.

The only bad part is Jacks thought it was a treat for him...
Friday we made Popsicles with gummy bears in them. It was a good way to end a hot day. I guess Brad really wanted a try.

Camden's Night

Last night was Camden's special night. Since it's summer we told the kids their activity had to be something outside. For dinner Camden wanted McD's. I know I loved it as a kid, but it gets old as an adult.
Next we went to Centennial and hiked around. Camden was fun to watch hike. He really didn't have any fear. He was hoping he would find a lizard, but no such luck.

To finish off the night we went to Orange Leaf. The only problem with that place is the kids love the toppings more than the ice cream. They mix them up and not in a good way. Camden didn't eat a ton of the yogurt, but he said he had a fun time. I am really loving these nights with the kids. It's fun for Brad and I to be one on one with them.

Boys...

Our boys are... well interesting at times. Not sure where they come up with some of the things they do, but they are funny at times. The other day we got soap crayons for the bath. The kids love them. Camden took a shower the other day and seemed disappointed Beck didn't have to (he did the night before). We found out today why. Cam's long shower wasn't because he was cleaning himself well, it was because he was leaving Beckham a note. If you can't read it, it says "I'm coming for you Beck! from: Cam To: Beck." The bottom has two boxes that say "surrender or die" and Die is checked off.... should I be worried? Although Camden couldn't and wouldn't hurt a fly. He's holding a sword and a bow. I give him an A+ for a good picture and A+ for being a little creepy. I don't think he thought we'd see it. He was surprised when I asked him about it. Ahh boys.

Jacks is Officially 2

Jackson's birthday was the 31st. He has grown a lot this past year. He's looking more like a little boys and not a baby. Last year when I tried to take his picture he just ran around and wouldn't let me get a good one, and not much changed for this year. This was the best out of 10 or so. (the one by the door is the new one).
Jacks already got his presents, so we just had some cupcakes. Jackson is taking the path of Camden and Emery, not eating well. It's a fight almost every meal. He also doesn't really like meat. I can get him to eat most other foods, but he doesn't really like meat, well other than hot dogs, but is that really meat? I told him to eat one bite and he could be done, you can see it on the table, but it was a big ordeal for him. As you can see he wasn't happy about it. He is pointing to the cup cakes. As I am writing this out he looked at the picture and said "Jacks eat. It's yucky"
I held him for a minute and he finally ate.
Blue frosting was a mess, but a tasty one.
He got blowing out the candles a little better this time and was pretty happy when they went out.

And he enjoyed every bite of his cake.
Like father like son, they both are a mess.
One wasn't enough for Jacks, he wanted to share Brad's too. This picture he's pointing to it saying "yummy, yummy." I did however this time put the left over cup cakes father back so he can't reach them and pick at them.
Jackson is a handful. He is the only one of our kids who has had the terrible twos and they are in full force. He is all boy and loves to explore. Jackson plays well alone and when he is playing alone it's best to leave him that way, he doesn't like his game interrupted. He has a sweet Irish temper on him, and has been letting that out often. Jacks is a great sleeper. A lot of times he will go to his room and wait by his bed because he wants to go to sleep. Jackson loves shoes and socks. If I don't put socks on him in the morning he gets mad. He still loves to he help and cuddle, so that makes it nice that our baby still likes to do that. He is obsessed with kitties and acts like one a lot. The other 3 play into it and really treat him like one. We were at one of my friends house and they have a real cat. Jackson was amazed and even wanted to share it's food... not a good plan in the end. Jackson loves outside and would stay out all day if we let him. We have annoying neighbor dogs that bark all the time. Jacks doesn't help because he'll call them over to come to the fence. He and Emery are the best of friends but fight mean too. He can stand up for himself, which is good to have for a youngest child. He loves fruit, chips, hot dogs, fruit snacks and ice cream. He also loves to take baths and never wants to get out. Taking him out has been the reasoning for a few of his tantrums. He loves books and loves when Beckham will read him books. Jackson loves to go to Grandma and Grandpa's house, both of them. He also knows when we are at dad's work to pick him up or at Deseret Book to see Grandma Arrington at work. He is such a fun boy and brings so much joy into our lives. He knows he is cute and funny and tried to make people laugh. I have a feeling he will be the class clown, trying to make everyone happy. We love this little boy.
